The Graveside service for Mr. J.S. Brown of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Montezuma, Georgia. J.S. Brown was born October 10, 1957, in Montezuma, Georgia to Clifford Brown, Sr. and Lottie Mae Robinson Brown. He acquired his education in the public school system of Macon County. J.S. loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his fun-loving and outgoing personality.

Mr. J. S. Brown passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Brown, Sr. and Lottie Mae Robinson Brown and his brothers, Jimmy Brown and Clifford Brown, Jr. 

J.S. leaves precious memories that will forever be cherished by his devoted family which includes his sister, Jean Brown of Montezuma, Georgia; his brothers: Willie James (Shirley) Brown, Terry (Sherry) Brown and Jerry Brown all of Montezuma, Georgia and Willie Frank Brown, Sr. of Marshallville, Georgia; two aunts: Fannie Pearl Robinson of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Bernice Brown of Miami, Florida; a devoted cousin, James Robinson of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Graveside Service for Mr. Eugene "Geno" Turner Sr. of Montezuma, Georgia will be conducted on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, 6425 Jalappa Road, Byromville, Georgia. Pastor Alvin Turner will officiate. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

Eugene “Geno” Turner Sr. was born on September 21, 1951, in Tampa, Florida to the late Roy Turner Sr. and Ozzie Ree Trice Turner. He acquired his education in the public school system of Macon County. He attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School and soon after joined the United States Army.  Eugene honorably retired from the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. “Geno” soon bought a semi-truck and became owner/operator of Turner Trucking, Inc. until he decided to retire from the trucking industry.  He was a dedicated and faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as an Usher and member of the Finance Committee, under the leadership of Pastor Alvin Turner until his health failed.

Eugene passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Americus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Barbara Jean Turner-Daniels (Willie), his sister, Antoinette Rice (Jimmy), his brother, Anthony Turner, and his brother-in-law, Clarence Johnson.

Eugene leaves precious memories to be cherished by his sons: Xavier L. Turner (LyTrail) of Montezuma, Georgia and Eugene Turner Jr. of Greenville, South Carolina; his daughter, Ashley S. Witchard of Americus, Georgia; siblings: Cassandra Johnson, Roy Turner (Jackie), and Tommy Felton Sr. (Pearlie) all of Montezuma, Georgia; his loving and caring companion of over thirty years, Ms. Mae Cather Dawson of Americus, Georgia; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. George King, age 99 of Americus, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Hill Cemetery. Mr. George King was born on June 15, 1922 in Americus, Georgia to the late Amy Rucker King and the late James King. He was married to the late Estella Dunning King. Mr. King was employed for several years at Warren Scott Construction Co.

The Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Te’Yana Fudge of Oglethorpe, Georgia will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Macon County High School Gym, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow at Oglethorpe City Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

Te’Yana Shy’Kim Fudge was born on December 11, 2000 in Americus, Georgia to Kimberly Germany and Travis Fudge. As an active basketball player, track and field participant, and soccer player, she graduated from the Macon County School System in Montezuma, Georgia.

Loving, open-hearted, nurturing, hard-working, strong, independent ... all words to describe one that was called mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. While being around her, you would receive unconditional love and amazing vibes. Those who knew her loved her very much. However, it was our Creator who loved her most of all.

In the early morning hours of January 14, 2022, God spoke to Te'Yana and said, "The fight is over." The hurt, pain, and tears you have cried are all over. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord." She was preceded in death by her loving family members which include her grandparents: Lizzie Tookes and Thomas Sykes and her great-grandmother, Mary Stewart.

Te'Yana leaves precious memories to be cherished by her only daughter, Ariyah Fudge of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her mother, Kimberly (Michael) Germany of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her father, Travis (Shanika) Fudge of Montezuma, Georgia; grandmother, Mildred Fudge of Montezuma, Georgia; brothers: Tregaryin Fudge of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Markey Fudge of Montezuma, Georgia; uncles: Damian (Sabrena) Tookes of Warner Robins, Georgia, Ernest Stewart of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Corey (Annie) Ogburn of Montezuma, Georgia, James Wells of Montezuma, Georgia and Robbie Harris of Atlanta, Georgia; aunts: Shunika Fudge of Montezuma, Georgia, Crystal Nedd of Marshallville, Georgia and Sherlanda Allen of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of beloved cousins and friends.

The Graveside Service for Mr. John Henry Bogan, Jr. of Montezuma, Georgia will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Mr. John Henry Bogan, Jr. was born on December 25, 1952 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Mattie Cromer West and the late John Henry Bogan, Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Macon County and was a graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. He was employed at Southern Frozen Foods for many years until the plant closed. He later was employed at ADS. He retired from Piggly Wiggly.

On January 11, 2022, John departed this earthly life for sweet eternity with his Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Sammy Lee West, Buster James West, Elois West, Oscar Trice and Laura Porter.

Precious memories will always remain with his loving family. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Ida Bogan; three children: Sammy Perkins, Teresa Bogan and DeQuincy Johnson (Adrian); three siblings: Jim Trice of Montezuma, Georgia, George Trice of Railford, Florida and Sherry Robinson of Americus, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lavern Perkins and Evonne Moore both of Montezuma, Georgia, Jeanette Perkins of Fort Valley, Georgia, Richard Perkins (Sheila) of Montezuma, Georgia, Dr. Emory Perkins of Washington, D.C., Milton Perkins (Pamela) of Montezuma, Georgia and Elnora Felton (William) of Oglethorpe, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren: Addison Robinson, Malani Bogan and Deshawn Oliver, Jr.; two god grandchildren: Baileigh Waters and Paris Harden; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Graveside Service for Mrs. Mary Lizzie Prator Brown of Marshallville, Georgia will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 1:00 at Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Montezuma, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

On October 26, 1935, Mary Lizzie Prator was born to the parentage of the late Allen Prator and Mary Tookes Journey.  She was the youngest of two siblings born to Allen and Mary. She was affectionately known as “Smookie.” 

She attended and graduated from the historic Flint River Community School. She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the Christian band at the Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She served as the church secretary until her demise. She also served as mother of the church.

In 1952, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Warren Brown, Sr., and to this union, they were blessed with eight children. Three of her children proceeded her in death:  Ernest Brown, Linda Louise Brown Wilder, and Warren Brown, Jr.  She was also proceeded in death by her sister Alice Fuller.

Mrs. Brown served faithfully for over 32 years as a cook for the Macon County School System. Many years later, some of the students still contacted her, thanking her for giving them extra food when she knew they were hungry and had little at home. 

On Sunday morning, January 9, 2022, the Lord sent his angels to bring her home. In the twinkling of an eye she was resting in the bosom of Jesus. As he stated in Matthew 11:28-29 –“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Left to cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy of Christian service are her sister, Catherine Taylor of Marshallville, Georgia; her children: Hozie James Brown, Mary Lee King (Ricky), and Willie Lewis Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia, Liman Brown, and Michael Brown (Virginia) of Marshallville, Georgia. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of nieces and nephews—a devoted niece Ossie Hall (Greg) of Macon, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, of which two proceeded her in death, Lawanda Brown and Travorious Brown; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great children.

The Graveside Service for Mrs. Ruby Miller of Montezuma, Georgia will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at noon at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Montezuma, Georgia. Mrs. Ruby Mae Joiner Miller was born November 23, 1934,to the late Asmarie Joiner in Crisp County, Georgia. Reared by her grandparents Simon and Lula Joiner, she was known by family and friends as "Cokey". Born in a family of six children, five preceded her in death which included Juanita Joiner, Frederick Joiner, Sr., Louise Joiner McGhee, Lois Joiner and Joyce Marie Trice. She was educated in the public school system of Crisp County. She joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her death. She served faithfully as the Mother of the church, Usher Board President, and secretary of the church. On February 11, 1956, she was united in holy matrimony to Bennie Lee  Miller Sr. This union was blessed with six children. One preceded her in death (Mazerine Miller Adams). On Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022, the death angel sealed the lips of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. “Servant of God, well done.”

Left to remember her with love and affection are five loving and devoted children: Gloria Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia, Irene Miller Hubbard (Kenneth) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Bennie Lee Miller, Jr. of Montezuma, Georgia, Charlie R. Miller (Yvonne) of Ellenwood, Georgia and Lynda Miller Fobbs (Danny) of Riverdale, Georgia; son-in-Law, Leroy Adams of Montezuma, Georgia; eighteen loving grandchildren; seventeen loving great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Willie B. McGhee; devoted cousins: Mary Barrett of Orlando Florida and Shirley Brown of Montezuma, Georgia;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
