Mr. Willie C Burkes, Jr. affectionately known at “Largo” died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of West's Mortuary with Rev. Sandy Parks officiating. Burial will follow on Monday at 2:00 P.M. at the Andersonvillie National Cemetery.

 

Mr. Willie C. Burkes, Jr was born on March 2, 1944 in Sumter County Georgia to the Late Mrs. Emma C Burkes and the late Mr. Willie C. Burkes, Sr. Willie was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated at the top of the class of 1961. While in school he and a classmate won 2nd place at the Macon Science Fair by building a shortwave radio. After graduation he enlisted into the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after four years of service. He later moved to Cleveland Ohio where he worked for the Post Office and as a Security Guard at the University Hospital of Cleveland.

 

He leaves to mourn his passing a son, Curtis Lamar Hickson (Shirley); four grandchildren: Curtis Jr., Tamaya, Corryn and Charlyn; two great grandchildren: Kamiyah and Omar; two brothers: Jerome Williams and Robert Lee Williams; several devoted cousins including: Betty Stevens, Rosa Pace, Fannie Anthony, Ruth Webster, Fran Webster, Lillie Ruth Pace, Sara Carter Vonnie Faye Williams, Ronald Pace, Dennis Pace and Lisa Pace; several devoted friends including: Eddie Banks, Jr., Captain Roger, Cecil Horne, General Reid, Eddie Bryant, Jr. and Ms. Freddie Battle; one aunt Ms. Francis Perry and several other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services for Infant Keyarri Nere’ Ruch will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Babyland in the Eastview Cemetery with Rev. William Laster officiating.

Infant Keyarri Nere' Ruch was born in Fort Stewart GA on Jan. 19, 2013 to Rahsaan & Ja'Meia Cottle-Ruch. On Tuesday, February 5, 2013, God called his little Angel home to rest. She was preceded in death by her Great grandparents: John & Meroal Myrick, & Robert Johnson

She leaves to cherish her memory her parents Rahsaan & Ja'Meia Cottle-Ruch, a sister A'Shariya Sy'Meia Ruch all of Great Lakes, IL. Her grandparents, William & Joann Allen-Johnson of Fort Stewart GA, Carla Ruch of Tacoma WA, Horace Cottle of Americus GA, Sidney Timberlake of Phoenix AZ, Roy Peace of Tacoma WA, Curtis & Kim Pina-Grace Sr. of Wareham, MA. Aunts & Uncles: Tanaisha Thornton-Clark of Americus GA, Jeffrey Antone of Coquitlam BC, Elexis Johnson-Archie of Tacoma WA, Andre' Ruch of Tacoma WA, Zoe Reddick of Albany GA, Kydayne Broughton-Ruch of Tacoma WA, Amanda Ruch of Tacoma WA, & Curtis Grace Jr. of Wareham MA. Mr. Jimmy Williams, Sr.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy Williams, Sr. of  601 McKenzie Drive, Montezuma  will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Montezuma with Reverend Alfred Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery.

 

Mr. Jimmy Williams, son of the late Jesse and Armetta Perry Williams, was born November 17, 1934 in Macon County, Georgia.  He was married to Dorothy Jean Adams and this union was blessed with seven children. For a number of years he was a supervisor at Southern Frozen Foods. He passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Macon Coliseum Hospital. He was preceded in death by his daughter Garnette Robinson and two grandchildren Antonio Robinson and Brianna Williams.

 

He is survived by the mother of his children, Dorothy Jean Williams of Montezuma, Georgia; six children: Jimmy Williams, Jr. (Mary Ann),  Brenda Walters (Oscar),  Dorothy Freeman, and Jerome Williams (Veronica) all of Montezuma, Georgia,  Bobby Lee Williams (Feleica) of Valdosta, Georgia and Letha Ann Williams of Albany, Georgia; four sisters and one brother: Lizzie Johnson and Mary Frances Wallace both of St. Petersburg, Florida, Annie Mae MacDuffey of Douglas Georgia, Annie Ruth Thomas (Ira) of Hazelhurst, Georgia  and Ernest Williams (Teresa) of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty-eight grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
