The Memorial Service for Mr. Coleman Whitfield will be conducted Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia with Reverend Alfred Wynn officiating.

Mr. Coleman Bryant Whitfield was born on July 6, 1934 in Louisville, Georgia to the late McKinley and Callie Heggs Whitfield. He graduated from Monitor High School in Fitzgerald, Georgia then furthered his education at Fort Valley State University.

In 1966 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country honorably. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Letter of Appreciation, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal with 4 stars and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

Mr. Whitfield departed this earthly life on October 30, 2019 at his residence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William McKinley Whitfield.

Memories of his beautiful life will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Alnetia Whitfield of Montezuma, Georgia; two daughters: Oneida Whitfield of Stockbridge, Georgia and Ranee Whitfield of Odenton, Maryland; two stepchildren: Trenton Lockhart of Atlanta, Georgia and Franchell English of Albany, Georgia; six step grandchildren; twelve step great grandchildren; two sisters: Carrie E. Brown and Margaret Fowler; a host of nieces and nephews; special devoted friends: Leonard Johnson and Chiquita Fye.

The funeral service for Mrs. Johnnie Lou Kee of Americus, GA will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Antioch Baptist Church on Hwy 280 West Americus, GA with Rev. Gwen Harris officiating.

Mrs. Johnnie L. Kee was born in Sumter County, Georgia on April 5, 1935 to the parentage of the late Mr. Henry S. Stephens and the late Blanchie Croxton Stephens.  During her youth she became an active member of Antioch Baptist Church in Americus, GA. Johnnie moved to the state of New York in 1967 where she met her husband, Roosevelt Kee, Jr.  There she became a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and Missionary.  After retiring from the State of New York in 1995, she moved back to her home town, Americus, GA.  Johnnie moved to her eternal home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Preceding her in death were two brothers: Mr. Henry Lee Stephens and Mr. James Authur Stephens; one sister, Mrs.Willie Mae Stephens Thomas.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Rev. Roosevelt Kee; two sisters; Mrs. Frances James Zabala and Mrs. Ossie Tyson, all of Americus, GA; three children: Barry, Phyliss and Roosevelt; four grandchildren: Devon, Sabrina Keena and Raymond and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Bobby "BBQ Bobby" Green

Mr. Bobby Greene, affectionately known as “BBQ Bobby”, was born March 9, 1959 in Americus GA, to the late Ms. Lola Mae Greene and the late Mr. John Henry Hamilton of Americus, GA. He attended Eastview Elementary School and Staley Junior High.

Bobby died on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Lillian Carter Nursing Home in Plains, GA.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters: Allison Greene of Atlanta, GA and Angie Greene of Americus, GA; three sisters: Madia Greene, Marla McGrady and Odellia Williams; a devoted cousin, Patricia Hollis of Americus, GA; an aunt Rosa Allen of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren; several other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Greene will be held in the Chapel of West’s Mortuary on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.

Funeral Services for Mr. Willie Caesar Waters, Jr. of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 a. m. at Inspirational  Church By Faith with Elder Larry Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Creek AME Church Cemetery

“Billy” as he was affectionately known was born on June 23, 1954 in Sumter County, Georgia to Mrs. Mattie Waters and the late Mr. Willie C. Waters, Sr.  On Tuesday October 8, 2019 he departed this earthly life at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Johnny Waters, Salisa Waters, Ida Waters and Walter Waters.

Memories of his beautiful life will forever be cherished by his mother, Mattie Waters of Americus, Georgia; his children: Lawrence B. Smith, Sr. (Inez Smith) of Bordertown, NJ, Kelvin J. Waters of Albany, GA and Sha’Neique M. Brooks of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren: Jasmine K. Smith, Lawrence B. Smith Jr., Yamila D. Smith, of Bordentown, New Jersey, Trabian J. West of Americus, GA, Kiana M. Waters and Alexa Gaines of Montgomery, AL., Emoija A. Howard of Albany, GA, Te’Laya A. Hawkins of Atlanta GA; thirteen brothers and sisters and their spouses: Alfred J. Waters of Atlanta, GA, Deborah G. Colbert, Royzell Waters of Live Oak FL, Patricia A. (Jimmy) Reynolds, Glenn R. Waters, Dwayne I. Waters, Sr. Lorenzo L. (Sekeithia) Waters, Rachel L. Waters, Shonna V. Waters, Micquelyn N. Waters, Marc A. (Regina),Waters, Matthew D. Waters, Raven P. (Kevin) Binn of Columbus, GA; uncle and aunts: Charles (Nina)  Russell of Newark, NJ, S. T. Mr. Marvin Johnson

The Graveside Service for Mr. Marvin Johnson of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 8620 GA Highway 26E, Montezuma, Georgia with Reverend Allen Waters officiating.

Marvin Johnson was born September 22, 1921 to Blanche and William Shephard Johnson, Jr. in Macon County, Georgia. At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and became a faithful member and Steward at St. Louis CME Church. He also attended New Hope Baptist Church faithfully.

Mr. Johnson was educated in the public schools of Macon County. He was employed at Warner Robins Air Force Base for forty-three years. He married Ms. Eria Odom of Macon County, his wife of sixty-three years. To this union were born four children: Marilyn, Mazarena, Carolyn and Carroll. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were master gardeners. They grew a variety of prize-winning roses and were awarded many 1st place ribbons.

Mr. Marvin Johnson transcended from labor to an everlasting life of peace and rest on October 1, 2019 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife Eria, his daughter Marilyn Grimes and his son Louis Johnson.

Memories of his beautiful life will be forever cherished by his loving daughters: Mazarena (Charles) Allen and Carolyn (Carl) Isreal of Montezuma, Georgia; his loving son, Carroll (Stephanie) Johnson of Warner Robins, Georgia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; his siblings: Minnie Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and James Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Mollie Johnson, Alberta Odom and Willie James Odom of Montezuma, Georgia; step-brothers: Leroy James and Lynmore (Faye) James of Montezuma, Georgia; step sister-in-law, Bertha James of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Christopher Allen, his caretaker and Reginald Allen, his handyman.
