Mr. Tommie Lee Hubbard

The Graveside Service for Mr. Tommie Lee Hubbard will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Champ Waters Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

Tommie Lee Hubbard was born on June 24, 1942 to the late Jim Hubbard and the late Mary Trice Hubbard in Montezuma, Georgia. Tommie received his education at the Macon County Training School. Tommie joined the Piney Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Tommie married Bettye K. McKenzie in 1962 and to this union one daughter was born. In 1965, Tommie moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked with Belmont Casket Company for many years. After living in Columbus, Ohio for 55 years, Tommie decided it was time to return to Georgia in August of 2019. Tommie loved his caps, eating at White Castle, and watching Westerns.

Tommie passed away on April 21, 2021 at Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings: John Lee Hubbard, Ananias Hubbard, Sr., Elder J. H. Hubbard, Mamie Stinson, Lillie B. McKenzie, Timothy Hubbard, Willie Marie Hubbard, Lena Mae Hillman, and Frank Hubbard, Sr.

Tommie leaves precious memories to be cherished by his two loving children: Delphine (Wayne) Solomon of Ellaville, Georgia and Marvin Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia; six siblings: Annie Lee Thomas, Vera Solomon, Myra Oliver all of Montezuma, Georgia, Linda Johnson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mary Louise Collier of Perry, Georgia, and Jet (Barbara) Hubbert of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer Joiner and Jessica Joiner of Atlanta, Georgia; devoted nieces and nephews: Vivian James, Anias Hubbard, Jr., and Robert C. Hillman; his best friend Roosevelt Latimore of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Hattie Hubbard; step-children: Terrell McKenzie, Kreis McKenzie, and Darlene Taylor; nine step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Charles Anthony Bridges

A Graveside service for Mr. Charles Anthony Bridges will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Donovan Coley officiating

Charles Anthony Bridges journey began July 12, 1974. He was a loving dad, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.  He was born July 12, 1974 in Americus, GA.   He was the son of the late Joann Angrish Baker and his loving father James Edward Bridges.

Anthony Charles as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Sumter County School System. He was employed at the Green Bean Plant in Americus, GA. He was devoted to his family and friends.

Charles is survived by two loving sons: Zydarrion Bridges and Davonte Davis; one daughter, Keiera Bridges; two brothers: James  (Sharonda) Angrish and Gene Jackson; two sisters: Tyanna L. Bridges and Tyerica N. Bridges;  uncles and aunts: Rev. Robert (Marsha) Angrish, Gary (Mary Ann) Angrish, Thomas (Sharon) Angrish, Christopher Denmark, Joe Bridges, Emory (Betty) Bridges, Raymond (Debra) Bridges, Joanne (Robert) Mack, Irene (Lawrence) Britt, Barbara Burns, Ella Tyner, Bethra Tyner, Annie Angrish. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; A devoted friend, Lakeisha Bowens and Kids; Loving and devoted nephew; Damion Jones, Christopher Bowens and Deandre Bowens.

Ms. Gloria Conrey

Gloria Joan Conrey (Westfall), 78, of Americus, Georgia passed away peacefully to her heavenly home while at Perfect Care Nursing Center on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Gloria was born on August 15, 1942, in Royal Oak, MI to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Swaringen) Westfall. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Violet Brickler of Springfield, IL and Jerrie Lou Nowlin of Sylva, NC.

Surviving are her children: Barbara Joan Hamilton of Menifee, CA, John Leonard Gates (Terrie) of Riverton, IL and Robbin Dorothy (Bob) Stanton of Springfield, IL; siblings: Barbara Jensen of Fort Wright, KY, Dale Westfall of Roscommon, MI, William Westfall of Fairview, MI and Carolyn Irelan of Owosso, MI.  She had three grandchildren and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Gloria went to school in Roscommon, Michigan and Grayling, Michigan, where she was on the cheerleading team. She made friends everywhere she went. In her early years she was an elevator operator at Leland Hotel in Springfield. In Florida she was an outstanding waitress for many years. Gloria finally settled in Georgia in her later years where she ran a successful storage unit business. Gloria loved cats, especially her cat Angel and her dog Termite.  She volunteered at the Stone Mountain Humane Society.  She also worked at the Republican Headquarters in Virginia answering phones and greeting people. Cremation has taken place and no funeral services are planned at this time.

Mr. Barney Mann, Jr.

Mr. Barney Mann, Jr. was born on December 2, 1951 to the late Mattie K. Cannon and the late Barney Mann, Sr. Barney peacefully passed away on April 13, 2021 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.

Left to cherish his memories are two sisters: Mary Glover Belser of Atlanta, Georgia and Linda Mann Berry of Americus, Georgia; two brothers-in-law: Lawrence Belser of Atlanta, Georgia and Robert Berry of Americus, Georgia; three nieces: Tamika Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Valerie Mann of Riverdale, Georgia and Carissa Mann of Americus, Georgia: a nephew, Samuel A. Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; great niece, Nashia Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; a great nephew, DeAngelo Smith of San Antonio, Texas; several other relatives and friends also survive.

The Graveside Service for Mr. Fred Warren of Oglethorpe, Georgia will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia. Fred Warren was born on March 17, 1951 to the late Eula Mae Warren and the late Muchie Warren, Sr. After graduating from D.F. Douglass High School, he served his country honorably in the US Army and The Marine Corps. Fred passed away on April 7, 2021 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his siblings: John Lewis, Eva Mae Howard, Hattie Mae McKinney, Muchie Warren, Jr. and Mahazie Hamilton.

Fred leaves precious memories to be cherished by his daughter, Daronda Coley of Decatur, Georgia; five siblings: Mary Daniels and husband J.C. of Atlanta, Georgia, Lelia Walker and Jessie Warren of Montezuma, Georgia, Ernestine Robinson and Celestine Thornton of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren: Elijah Coley, Daisy Coley and Mahazia Moore;  a host of other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service for Corporal Tony Anthony Harris will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Staley Memorial Gardens in Americus, GA. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you please MASK UP and continue practicing social distancing for your safety and for the protection of others.

Tony Anthony Harris was born on October 28, 1978 in Americus, GA to Doris West Harris and the late Romeo Harris, Jr. Tony attended Americus High School and graduated in June of 1998. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served honorably for four years. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for two years. Tony was recently employed by KFC. Lance Cpl. Harris passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Romeo Harris Jr; grandfather, Romeo Harris Sr.; two grandmothers, Lonnie Harris and Arlie Lue Bryant; and his uncle, Charles Bryant.

He is survived by his children: Anastasia Harris and David Harris; his mother, Doris Harris; his siblings: Jesse (Ann) Jackson Jr., Tammie Harris and LaShana Green; uncles: Mackel (Lynette) Harris, William Bryant and Eric B. Harris; aunts: Virgirie Thomas, Nancy (Alf) Robinson and Tracey Green; nieces: Shambreka Greene, Sharonda Harris and Shakema Waters; a nephew, Armand Green Jr.;  two great nephews: Shawn Cantrell and Sebastian Harris and one great niece, Skylar Harris; two devoted cousins: Anthony West and Dannetta West; and a devoted friend, Ms. Shantel Harris.
