Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Smith of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Hosie Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery.
Mrs. Brenda Smith, daughter of the late Estella Moore and Willie Lee “Dub” Bivins, was born April 8, 1954 in Macon County, Georgia. She grew up in Montezuma and was educated in the Macon County public school system, where she attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School. She was a valued employee in the housekeeping department at Montezuma Health and Rehabilitation Center for ten years.
Brenda was united in holy matrimony to Eddie Dean Smith in 1972. To this union, seven children were born.One child, Eddie Dean Smith, Jr. preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bennett Moore, Leroy Troutman, Jessie Mae Troutman, and Adele Troutman. Brenda’s Christian training was strengthened at local churches throughout the community. She enjoyed fellowshipping with other believers at Union Baptist Church until her health failed. Brenda was a caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a positive person who loved her family and community. Brenda departed this life on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband of forty-two years, Eddie Dean Smith of Montezuma, Georgia; her children: Timothy Smith of Columbus, Georgia, Nicole Smith, Rhonda Smith, Calvin Smith, Christopher Smith, and Quatara Smith of Montezuma, Georgia; her brothers, Kenneth Moore of Montezuma, Georgia and Lewis Troutman of Cordele, Georgia; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lewis and Dorothy Felton of Perry, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Accacia Fudge, Tre’Shawn Fudge, Shanicia Fudge, Willie Fudge III, Calen Lindsey, Cyla Lindsey, Timitrian Martin and Mya Worthy; a devoted nephew, James Troutman; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
