A Private Graveside Service for Ms. Elizabeth Ellen Barker of Rockhill Sub-division, Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019.

Ms. Elizabeth Ellen Barker, affectionately known as “Tit” was born on July 25, 1958 to Mrs. Ella Lee Barker and Mr. John T. Barker. She departed this life on June 28, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar T. Barker.

She leaves loving memories with Clyde Hughes Banner; her children: Andria L. Barker, Shannon and Tamela Banner and Matthew J. Banner; eight grandchildren: Treveuss Prather, TaKiyah Prather, Nehemiah Barker, Tristen Banner, Santana Banner,Shamar Banner, Saniya Banner and Logan Quaterman; six sisters: Lee Ella Harris, Diana Carter, Joanne Barker, Lorretta McDonald (Johnny), Lorain Barker and Tammie Patillo (Arthur); five brothers: Johnny C. Barker, Arthur L. Barker, Clarence Barker (Kimberly), Charlie J. Barker (Charmayne) and Timmy T. Barker (Teresa); a devoted friend: Shatia Mercer; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Kirkland Jerome Pride

Mr. Kirkland Jerome Pride, Sr. affectionately known as “Kirk”, age 60 of Americus, GA, passed on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church Americus, Georgia with Reverend Donavon O. Coley officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia. 

Kirkland Jerome Pride was born November 4, 1958  in Sumter County, GA to the late Mr. Calvin Abraham Pride and the late Willie Mae Davis Pride. Kirkland was educated in the Sumter County Public School System and graduated from Union High School in 1978. At an early age he joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Andersonville, GA. Kirk met and later married, Kerri Dean Fuller on January 5, 2018.

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Alice J. Brown Pride, a brother-in-law Rudolph Coley, a brother Charlie James Pride and a bonus son James Fuller Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife Kerri Fuller Pride; his son Kirkland J. Pride Jr. “KP” of Stone Mountain, GA;  loving and caring bonus-daughters: Shyquanda Gordon,  LaTanja Bateman, Nileak Fuller and Diya Ross of Americus, Georgia; his brothers: Frank B. Pride of Columbus, GA, Michael Pride of Beaver Falls, PA, and Ernest (Sonja) Pride of Albany, GA; his sisters: Velma Coley and Tommie McCuller of Andersonville, GA and a sister-in-law  Deborah Pride of Palmetto Bay, FL;  his devoted parents-in-law: Clarence and Goldie Mae Burts; three brothers-in-law: Thad (Leila) Harris, Tellis Burts and William Fuller and a sister-in-law Patricia Wilson all of Americus, GA. He has a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.

Mr. William "Bruh" Small, Jr.

Mr. William Small Jr affectionately known as “Bro” age 75  of Americus, GA passed on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Phoebe-Putney Medical Center in Albany, Georgia.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Zion Hope Baptist Church Americus, Georgia with Reverend George F. Monts officiating. Interment will follow at the Israel Cemetery in Americus, Georgia. 

Williams was born April 14, 1944 in Americus, Georgia to William Small Sr. and Irene Bivins Small. William was educated in the Sumter County Public School System. At an early age William joined the Zion Hope Baptist Church. William met and later married his one true love Gloria Deriso on January _11, 1964 and to this union they were blessed with four children. This was truly a marriage made in heaven.

He leaves loving memories to his beloved family which include a loving, caring and dedicated wife for 55 years Gloria Deriso Small, Americus Georgia. Calvin Small (Michele) and William Small, II both of Americus, Georgia, Randy Small (Earlene) of Montezuma, Georgia and Gabriel Small (Patricia) of Dallas, Georgia; sixteengrandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Merritt of Miami Florida; two brothers-in- law: Benjamin  Deriso (Jackie) and Sylvester Deriso of Miami, Florida; three sisters-in-law: Grace Hunt of Atlanta, Georgia, Maggie Harmon of Orlando, Florida and Mattie Deriso of New York, New York; Several devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
