The Memorial Service for Mr. Richard “Ricky” Toole of Montezuma, Georgia will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Whitewater Baptist Church, GA Hwy 128, Oglethorpe, Georgia with Military Honors.

Marvin Richard Toole was born November 21, 1947, in Plant City, Florida to Marge Genell Burch and William Early Toole. As a youngster, Ricky moved to Montezuma, Georgia with his family. He attended the public schools of the county and graduated from Macon County High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country honorably in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Travelers Rest Masonic Lodge in Montezuma where he was the Grand Master.

Ricky married Virginia Cummings in 1968. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. Ricky worked hard to provide for his family. He was employed at Southern Frozen Foods for a number of years, and he was a truck driver with C & A Transport and ADM Trucking Company. Ricky was known in Radio Land on WMNZ 1050 AM as The Ole Memory Maker.  He was also a skilled oil painter who created a collection of beautiful pieces.

Richard Toole passed away on April 6, 2024, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon Georgia. He was preceded in death by his baby girl, Rechea. He leaves many beautiful memories with his wife, Virginia Toole of Montezuma, Georgia; his children: Denise Vincent of Montezuma, Georgia, Donna Kemp of Perry, Georgia; William Toole of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Christy Davis of Woodbridge, Virginia; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; his faithful companion, Skeeter; and a number of special friends.

Memory Maker was a great friend. One that pushed me to be a better man, better husband, better friend, better daddy, & better Christian. He was as close to a grandfather as one can get without being mine personally. He always said to keep your family close. No matter what happens always keep close family. You only get one! Time flies, I met him 2 years ago and from that day we grew closer & closer. I am so sorry for the Toole family, losing the Patriarch is hard, it’s even harder when he loves you like none other! He always would brag on his family! He was so proud of each of you! He had lots of fond memories of you guys and I heard as many as he could tell me! He loves his family, friends, animals, but most importantly he loved God! He was always up to learning and doing anything he could with radio. I grew to love this guy. He will be missed by many!
Godspeed my friend, walk, jump, & run on those streets of gold! Don’t wait up on us, we will see you again!

Your family has been in my prayers. I will miss Ricky but am confident we will meet again! I was privileged to get a glimpse of his spiritual journey. We were leaving his father’s trailer which was located on Brenda’s property. He started a conversation which both surprised and encouraged me. What I got to see from Ricky after that day convinced me that he was on the right path.

I believe it’s possible for all of us to be reunited for eternity. Our earthly loss only needs to be temporary. This message is summed up succinctly at www.needgod.net

May God give you peace!

IAfter many years of being apart, finding each other and reconnecting healed a hole in my heart. My grandfather loved me very much and always made sure I knew it. I will always love him and even though I wasn't always the most present we had due to life circumstances him and I always had the understanding that his home was my home too. I've lost so much family between death and addiction but granddaddy always gave me the home I was missing. Even though I won't have him to go to when things get bad anymore I know that he's preparing a place for his little girl in heaven. Thank you so much for being my home and my heart. I will miss you so much. I wish life had been simpler so we could have had more time together but thank you for always looking out for me and being the amazing stubborn man you were. Good news is I turned out just as stubborn as him so I'll always have that to carry with me. It was an honor for my kids and I to be a part of the last few years you had. Never goodbye, just till next time. You'll always be my number one
