Mr. Jerome Wilborn

Jerome Wilborn, son of the late James Wilborn and the late Mamie Mae Rush Wilborn, was born on November 19, 1953, in Americus, Georgia. "Joe or Cockhound", as he was affectionately called, enjoyed doing carpentry work and he loved his music. He especially loved to dance. He passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Pearlie Longstreet and Ann Wilborn, and two brothers, Charlie Rush and Roosevelt Wilborn. Johnny “Knot” Green, his devoted friend who was like a brother to him, also preceded him in death.
 
The Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Eastview Cemetery.
 
Left to cherish his memory are two sons: Horace Lee Wilborn of Americus, Georgia and Robert Lee (Katsu) Cannon of Albany, Georgia; three grandchildren: Dayhann, Lexi, and Robert Jr.; five brothers: James Wilborn, Willie James (Leola) Wilborn, Leon Wilborn, Robert Lee Wilborn and Henry Lee Wilborn all of Americus, Georgia; four sisters: Ms. Margie Wilborn, Mrs. Bobbie Ann Wilborn Waters (Jessie), Ms. Shirley Ann Wilborn and Mrs. Lois Davis all of Americus, Georgia; four aunts: Mrs. Shirley (Eddie) Robinson of Vero Beach, Florida, Mrs. Laverne (John) Williams of Desoto, Georgia, Mrs. Eula (James) Merritt of Americus, Georgia and Mrs. Martha (Randy) King of Cordele, Georgia; two uncles: Cleveland Rush, Jr. and Sander Rush both of Vero Beach, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews, including three devoted nieces: Terri Ann (Brandon) Sims, Kimberly (Christopher) Wilborn and Latricia Wilborn all of Americus, Georgia; two devoted nephews: Bobbie Jason Merritt and Robtavious Wilborn both of Americus, Georgia; one devoted loving friend, Mattie Jewel Cannon of Americus, Georgia; Several others relatives and friends also survive.

To the Wilborn family, please accept our sincere condolences for your loss. The news of Joe's passing deeply saddened us. Joe will be truly missed by us as well as many others. May Almighty God comfort and strengthen each of you during this most difficult time. Again, we are so sorry for your loss.
