The Funeral Service for Deacon Marvin Hunt of Plains, Georgia will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Shipp Chapel Baptist Church, Americus, Georgia. Marvin Hunt was born September 5, 1952, in Americus, Georgia to Wilson Hunt and Louise Hunt. He retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company.
Deacon Hunt departed this life on January 26, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of forty-three years, Mary Ann Hunt; five children: Joseph Hooks, Sr., Reginald (Berneice) Hooks, Sr., Vickie (Antwon) Thomas, Valisa (Pastor Derick) Mercer, and Marvin Johnson, Sr.; his sister, Nellie Coleman, his brother, Wilson Hunt, Jr.; twenty-two grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
