The Funeral Service for Mr. Willie James “Pie” McDonald of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 8620 GA Hwy 26E, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

Willie James McDonald was born August 25, 1952, to Jesse and Ineze Candler McDonald in Montezuma, Georgia. Willie James, affectionately called “Pie”, attended Flint River Farms School and graduated from D.F. Douglass High School. He attended Fort Valley State College and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his enlistment, Corporal McDonald was awarded the Rifle Marksman Badge, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged in 1977.

At an early age, Willie accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, and he loved his church. He attended church faithfully until his health failed. On January 19, 2022, he married Ms. Charlemagne Fulks. Pie loved life, especially the special moments he shared with his family. He enjoyed family outings and laughing and joking with family and friends. He had a great sense of style. Pie took pride in wearing stylish suits, hats, and shoes. He loved sports and was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan. He departed this life Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon in 2015.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Charlemagne Fulks McDonald of Montezuma, Georgia; two children: Courtney Nicole Moore (Kenyon) of Perry, Georgia and Quenton McDonald of Lagrange, Georgia; a loving and devoted niece, Latreece McDonald of Montezuma, Georgia; six siblings: Cora McDonald, Curtis McDonald (Annette), Charles McDonald, and Sandra Dantes (Barney) of Montezuma, Georgia; Theresa May (James) of Macon, Georgia and Veleeta McDonald of Savannah, Georgia; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Augustin Dantes, Sr. of Warner Robins, Georgia and Angela McDonald of Montezuma, Georgia; six loving grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

To the McDonald Family,Theresa, I am sorry for the loss of your brother,Willie.
