The Memorial Service for Ms. Odessa Foster will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 on the lawn at West’s Mortuary in Americus. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you wear a mask and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

Ms. Odessa “Perk” Foster was born February 27, 1945, in Sumter County, Georgia to the late Mr. Rozell Foster Sr. and the late Mrs. Ida Willie Mott Foster. She attended Staley High School and after high school, she worked at Walmart for several years before an unfortunate injury. After that, Ms. Odessa focused solely on her family. She loved to cook big meals for them and have family time together. In her free time, Ms. Odessa also loved shopping. She was well known by the community to shop at her two favorite stores, Salvation Army and Goodwill.

On September 7, 2022, Ms. Odessa departed this life peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Roy Foster Sr., Rozell Foster Jr., Eddie Foster, David Foster and Charlie Foster and her sisters: Lillian Foster, Ida Mae Foster, Mattie Foster and Juanita Foster. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Doris Baisden of New Jersey; one daughter, Renita (Reginald) Woods of Americus, Georgia and two sons: Gregory (Phalisha) Foster of Dallas, Georgia and Trevor Stewart of Americus, Georgia; three devoted grandchildren, Jacquita (Eric) Holmes, Tyler and Lyric Hodge;  grandkids: Vishaun Foster, Ieshia Foster, Cameron Foster, Chance Foster, Britney Stewart, Amber Stewart, Annanise (A.J.) Stewart and Jac’deja Stewart; great-grands: Samaria Ingram, Eryn Stewart and Caitlyn Gardner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
