The Funeral Service for Mr. Curtis Angry will be conducted Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Grove Baptist Church in Smithville, Georgia.
Mr. Curtis Angry, well known to all as “Apple Jack” and “High Pocket” was born in Sumter County, Georgia on October 8, 1956 to the late Ethel Angry Burton and Frank Burton. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County and was in the class of 1976 at Americus High School.
Curtis started his first job at Magnolia Manor then went on to work at Tri Wood Inc. In 1981 he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country for eleven years. During his years of service he toured Germany, Korea and other places.
Curtis loved his family. He was full of fun and jokes. He always kept everyone laughing. Last but not least, Curtis loved cleaning yards and mowing grass with the Williams Brothers.
On November 5, 2019, the death angel called him home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Ann Burton and his brothers James Burton and Ray Charles Burton.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life two sisters: Bessie Mae Angry and Delois Angry Gore (Bobby) both of Americus, Georgia; two brothers: Frankie L. Angry (Ruby) of Americus, Georgia and Lee Otis Burton (Kathy) of Cleveland, Tennessee; his stepchildren: Sharon Walker (Cedric) and Constance Lewis (Alfred) both of Smithville, Georgia and Antonio Lewis (Danera) of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy French and Terrance French (Christina) of Smithville, Georgia and Kelvin French (Christina) of Albany, Georgia; five nephews and three nieces; devoted lifelong friends: Cletus Thomas and Judy Williams; devoted niece, Cassandra Burton; devoted cousin, Delphine McGrady; a host of other loving relatives and friends.
