The Funeral Service for Mrs. Mattie Lee Mathis Griffin will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 at St. John AME Church in Plains, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Preston Cemetery.

Mrs. Mattie Lee Mathis Griffin was born on June 6, 1944 to the late Mrs. Minnie Lee Sims and the late Mr. Mannie Mathis. She departed this life on January 2, 2019 at her residence.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Annie Ruth Mathis and James Author Mathis; step-children: Kelvin Smith and Robert Griffin, Jr.; grandchildren: Benni Sims, Basheika Sims, Adnana Lincoln and Carlteria Lincoln; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I would like to send my condolences to the family of Griffin. I know losing someone you love in death is very sad but we can all look forward to the time when the almighty God do away with all things that causes pain and suffering even death (Rev.21:3,4)I am so sorry for your loss

To my sister Annie Ruth and family God choose to pick a lily from our garden this year an believe me he makes no mistake in the the lily he choose , mother Mattie will be dearly missed and forever loved , sorry we couldn't make it in person but we are there in spirit.  ,
