Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Hicks of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at United Holiness Church with Rev. Kenneth Gouch.
Mr. Eugene Hicks “Joe Hicks” was born in Sumter County, GA on June 12, 1957 to the late Mrs. Mary Bertha Williams and the late Mr. Thomas Williams. He received his education in the public school system in Americus, GA. He was a member of the Old Antioch Baptist Church. For many years he was self-employed as a painter. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar, singing and spending time with his family. Eugene departed his life on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Warner Robin, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Tahesha Williams and one brother David Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 23 years, Rosa Hicks of Americus, GA; two daughters: Lakeithia (Demetrious) Banks of Americus, GA and a devoted daughter Shanika (Timothy) Warren of Warner Robins, GA; a stepfather Mr. James A Williams of Plains, GA; seven sisters: Elizabeth Williams, Sharon (Ozie) Holmes, Elaine Williams, Lashawanda Williams, Na’Tonya Williams, Quida (Edward) Thomas, Jeans Williams; twelve brothers: Thomas Williams, Earnest Williams, Johnny Sims, Edward Williams, Edgwardo (Juliet) Williams, Orlando Williams, Keon Williams, Eric Williams, James (Diane) Williams Jr. Donald (Belinda) Williams, and Mario Dice; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Martha (Charlie) Harvey, Five brother in laws Jimmy (Tracy) Gordon, Rodney (Stacey) Gordon, James (Helen) Gordon Bobby Louis, Benny Perry all of Americus, GA; eight aunts: Ms. Lorene Sanders, Mrs. Bobbie Jean (Nathaniel) Armstrong, Ms. Katie Ruth Watts, Mrs. Alma Ruth (Sam) Solomon, Mrs. Mattie (Elder Karl) Colquitt, Mrs. Aretha Bates, Mrs. Martha (Frank) Townsley and Mrs. Mary (Albert) Mack; one uncle, Mr. Robert Sanders; five grandchildren: Jashawn Snipes, Jaylan Snipes, Jaliya Holder, Arianna Warren and Zakalyn Warren all of Warner Robins, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends also survive including a devoted friend Mr. James Magee.
