Graveside service for Mr. John Small age 61 of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Israel Cemetery in Sumter City with Rev. George F. Monts officiating.

 

Mr. John Small affectionately known as “Fat” was born January 12, 1951 in Americus GA, to the late William Small Sr. and the late Mrs. Irene Small.  At an early age he joined the Zion Hope Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Sumter County, where he played football. He was employed at Davis Casket Co, Scotts Construction and Markett Nursery. Mr. Small died on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory four children: Krystal Caldwell and Dione Caldwell of Americus GA, Gary Oliver of Atlanta GA, and Sammy Bass of Vienna GA; two sisters: Lorene Twenty of Americus and Thelma Merritt of Miami Florida; two brothers: Mr. William and Gloria Small Jr. all of Americus GA and Henry and Lois Small of Detroit Michigan; two aunts: Ms Pecola Small of Pennsylvania and Ossie Holmes of Chicago Illinois.  One grandchild, Samarian Bass of Vienna GA, Several other nieces and nephews that he treated as his own also survive.
