The Funeral Service for Mrs. Louise West Watts will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Leslie Civic Center. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

Louise West Watts, affectionately known as “Weebbie”, was born on December 24, 1944, in Vienna GA, to the parents of the late Louisa West & Willie James West. She was one of six children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Thomas West and a son-in-law, Michael Johnson.  She married Jesse Watts on August 8, 1966.  She was educated in the Crisp County School System. She was a faithful and active member of St Paul Baptist Church of Cordele until her health declined. Louise worked many years as a seamstress while she helped to raise her grandchildren.

On February 20, 2023 Louise West Watts was called home by her father, He called out to her “Faithful servant well done.” Louise leaves cherished memories with her husband of 56 years, Rev Jesse Watts, Desoto, GA; her four kids: Curtis West Sr. (fiancé Tammy), Cordele, GA, James (MaryAnn) McKenzie, Jesse (Kimberly) Watts and Tonia Johnson all of Americus, GA; her 10 grandchildren: Roderick (Shytara) Morgan, Atlanta, GA, Jessica (Eddie) Berryhill, Americus, GA, Curtis West Jr, Fayetteville, NC,  Alexandria Watts, Palm Coast, FL, Louran Johnson, Americus, GA, Shenita Wiggins, Americus, GA, Iyana Towns, Americus, GA, Marquis Paschal, Atlanta, GA, Shanika McGrady and Tonika McGrady of Americus, GA; her siblings: Claudia West, Dorothy Tolbert, Kathleen Tolbert and James West all of Cordele, GA,  her in-laws: Pastor Georgia Deriso, Desoto, GA, Min. David Watts, Desoto, GA, Doshia Watts, Columbus, GA, Mary Alice Ward, Philadelphia, PA, Pastor Anthony (Shunda) Walker and Randy Walker of Desoto, GA and Ruby Connelly, Orlando, FL; a host of great-grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a devoted neighbor Dessa Fuller and all of the Desoto, Leslie, & Cobb communities that loved her. Special Thanks to Curtis Porter & Artis Walker.
