The Funeral Service for Mrs. Barbara Carr Felton of Montezuma, Georgia will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Salem Baptist Church, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in Champ Waters Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

Barbara Carr Felton, also known as “Gina”, was born on December 11, 1962, in Montezuma, Georgia. She was the daughter of Bessie Carr Tookes and the late Charles Carr. She received her education in the Macon County School System and was a proud 1981 graduate of the historic D.F. Douglass High School. Having a warm heart and love for children, she worked at the Jean Abbott Daycare for many years. She later became employed as a Paraprofessional at the Macon County Elementary School.

Gina was a faithful member of the First Salem Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Anointed Voices of Praise until her health declined. She enjoyed watching the TV show Tyler Perry’s Sistas and her favorite series “Little House on the Prairie”.

Gina was united in holy matrimony on February 25, 1983, to the love of her life, Michael Joe Felton Sr. and to this union, they were blessed with two children. Gina transitioned into the arms of God on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Piedmont Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Felton Sr., her father Charles Carr, and her brother Clarence Carr.

Gina leaves a legacy of love and memories to her beloved family which includes her two children: Michael Felton Jr. (Kim) and Alicia Michelle Felton (friend, Alvin Stokes, Sr.) both of Montezuma, Georgia; her mother, Bessie C. Tookes (John) of Montezuma, Georgia; two grandchildren: Angel Cochran of Hampton, Georgia and Alvin Stokes Jr. of Montezuma, Georgia; five step-grandchildren: Jaquiez Harris, Ajanae Perkins, Makhil Perkins, Precious Ellis, and Akeelah Ellis; siblings: Doris Harris (Nathaniel) and Martha Harris of Montezuma, Georgia, Calvin Carr (MaryAnn) of Perry, Georgia, Prophet Charlie Carr of Leesburg Georgia, Jim Butler (Lacisha) of Fort Valley, Georgia, Willie Frank Roberts (Angela) of Warner Robins, Georgia, John Tookes Jr. of Montezuma, Georgia; god-sister, Jessica French (Devosie) of Warner Robins, Georgia; her mother-in-law, Florie Felton of Montezuma, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers- in-law: Darren Felton, Ann Felton, Sharon Beal (Jody), Amellia Williams (Eric) of Montezuma, Georgia, Tammy Felton (Vashati) of Lexington, South Carolina, Lisa Bryant (Arney) of Vienna, Georgia, and  Trenna Felton Americus, Georgia; goddaughters: Priscilla Wiggins and Ashanti Hughey of Montezuma, Georgia and Towanda Turner of Ideal, Georgia; an amazing, devoted friend and godsister, Shirley Harvey of Warner Robins, Georgia; other devoted friends and phone buddies: including Joan Haugabook, Pebbles Baldwin, Judy Woolfork, Anginette Carr, Dorothy Oliver, Joel Brown, Freddie Burnam, and host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.

May you all know we, your family, are lifting you in prayer. May you find strength in knowing that Barbara “Gina”; like Mike, will live on in the hearts of those who know and love her. Stay close to each other as you love and pray for each other. Accept what God allows and keep looking to the hills which cometh all our help!
