The Funeral Service for Mr. Michael Joe Felton Sr. of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at First Salem Baptist Church, Twin Churches Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.

Michael Joe Felton Sr. was born October 5, 1961, in Montezuma, Georgia. He was the son of Florie Felton the late Alonzo Woolfolk. He received his education in the Macon County School System at the Historic D.F. Douglass High School. At an early age, he became a member of the Harrison Chapel Baptist Church. Michael, better known as “Mike”, was employed at the Tyson Feed Mill where he worked as a rail receiver for 20 years, until his health declined.

On February 25,1983, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Barbara Jean Carr and to this union they were blessed with two children. Mike was a man that had a huge passion for farming as well as raising his animals, working in the garden, and most of all making his famous Brunswick Stew.

On Monday, September 12,2022, Mike took his final breath and went to live with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents: Alonzo Woolfork and Inez Woolfork; his siblings: Tony Felton, Lonnie Woolfork Sr, Gladys Felton, Jerome Felton, and Audrey Woolfork.

He leaves to honor and cherish his memory, his beloved wife of thirty-nine years, Barbara Carr Felton of Montezuma, Georgia; his two children: Michael Felton Jr. (Kimberly) and Alicia Michelle Felton of Montezuma, Georgia (and her friend Alvin Stokes Sr.) of Savannah, Georgia; his mother, Florie Felton of Montezuma, Georgia; two grandchildren: Angel Cochran of Hampton, Georgia and Alvin Stokes Jr. of Montezuma, Georgia; five step-grandchildren: Jaquiez Harris, Ajanae Perkins, Makhil Perkins, Precious Ellis, and Akeelah Ellis; three brothers: Darron Felton of Montezuma, Georgia, Dennis (Betty) Thomas and Reginald (Brenda) Thomas all of Hartford, Connecticut; five sisters: Anne Felton and Sharon (Jody) Beal of Montezuma, Georgia, Tammy (Vashati) Felton of Lexington, South Carolina, Amillia (Eric) Williams of Montezuma, Georgia, and Lisa (Arney) Bryant of Vienna, Georgia; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bessie (John) Tookes of Montezuma, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Doris (Nathaniel) Harris and Martha Harris of Montezuma, Georgia, Prophet Charlie C. Carr of Leesburg, Georgia, Calvin (MaryAnn) Carr of Perry, Georgia and Trenna Felton of Americus, Georgia; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.

I am surely going to miss this man. He was my father too. I did get a chance to work with Mr Mike and I appreciated him. He became my work father and kept me in line just as he would his own. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for me and the same with me. Family just know I will be missing him right alone with you guys. LOVE YALL

Michael Felton you will be missed as a friend and a brother in law we be came close our talks about life really open my eyes to the fack we going through the same thing the out come may not have been the same but God planned a deferent road you have blessed me Mike with your friendships take your rest job well done amen
