A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Mary Lee Burman Cross of Atlanta, Georgia will be held Friday, August 5, 2022, at noon at Willie A. Watkins Historic West End Chapel, 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, Atlanta, Georgia. The Committal Service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, at noon at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 8620 GA Hwy 26E, Montezuma, Georgia with Reverend Jerome Glover officiating.

Mary Lee Burnam Cross was born February 5, 1946, in Macon County, Georgia. She was the eldest of eleven children born to the late Willie Lee Burnam, Sr. and the late Mary Frances Burnam Middlebrooks. She accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. Mary was educated in the Macon County School System. After completing her education, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Her first job was at Atlanta Linen, and she later began her career at General Motors in Atlanta, Georgia. Mary was full of life and had a great personality. She was well known for her sense of humor and having card parties for her friends. Mary loved spending time in the kitchen creating dishes for her family. She also loved to dance and watch football. She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons and her favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.

Mary Lee Cross departed this life on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Bridgewater Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Michelle Burnam; sisters and brothers: Barbara Crosby, Wilmatine Turner, Willie Lee Burnam, Jr. and Curtis Reese.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters: Karen Tye (Milton) and Janelle Weaver (Timothy); one son, Tyrone Burnam (Bekita); two sisters: Willie Mae Smith (William) and Susan Bolton (Louis); four brothers: Larry Burnam, Larry McKenzie (Sheron), Zachery Andrews (Barbara), and Gerald Burnam (Sheila); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
