The Graveside Service for Mrs. Laner Caroline Haugabook-Maloy of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Monica L. Spencer officiating.

Laner Caroline Haugabook-Maloy, affectionately known as “Carolyn” or “Tete”, was born May 16, 1957, to the late Willie B. Haugabook and Eddie Ruth “Honey” Felder-Haugabook in Macon County, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Brown Chapel Baptist Church and began her Christian walk. She was a devoted member of Bethel AME Church, Montezuma, Georgia. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and would often tell others of His goodness.

Mrs. Haugabook-Maloy touched the lives of many young people as she taught in the Macon County School System for fourteen years and retired in 2018. She was an avid supporter of Macon County sports. Mrs. Haugabook-Maloy transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Eric Haugabook, Willie H. Haugabook and Freddie Haugabook.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her loving husband of twenty-three years, Abner Maloy of Montezuma, Georgia; her loving and devoted children: Kesha Fuller of Anderson, South Carolina, LeVar Rice of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Jamaal Rice (Latoya) of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her siblings: Bettye Mathis of Ellenwood, Georgia, Marianne (Russell) Curry of Warner Robins Georgia, Clara McKenzie of Montezuma, Georgia, Jerome Haugabook of Atlanta Georgia, and Doris Haugabook of Marshallville, Georgia; bonus sisters: Bessie English and Brenda Ellis of Montezuma, Georgia; step-children: Abner (Teresa) Maloy, Jr. of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Troy (Wykesa) Maloy of Valdosta, Georgia; bonus children: Xavier (Ashley) Haugabook of Atlanta, Georgia, Zavisha Haugabook of Ellenwood, Georgia, and Jaunna Haugabook of Marshallville, Georgia; her pride and joy grandchildren: JaKera Felton, Deran Rice, Erin Duke Fuller, Jamaiya Rice, Eric Rice, Madison Rice, and Jholei Rice; her god children: Sammie Stewart, Jonathan Hillman, Rita Bandy, Paris Middleton, and Elizabeth Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, friends, community members, church members, and others who loved her dearly.

To the family, may God continue to comfort, keep, and Strengthen each of you during your time of breavement. Linda will be missed. I thank God for allowing me to get to know Linda.
