The Funeral Service for Rev. Samuel Lee Crumbley will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Whole Truth International Ministries at 502 S. Lee Street in Americus, Georgia.

Reverend Samuel Lee Crumbley was born on May 23, 1960, in Buena Vista, Georgia to the parentage of Reverend Robert Lee and Lula Maxie Crumbley. He grew up in the house his father built. He and his siblings had a special bond. Sam, as he was affectionately called, attended and graduated from Tri County High School in Buena Vista, Georgia in May of 1979.

At an early age, Sam joined the Brown Chapel AME Church in Buena Vista, Georgia. He was called into ministry and on November 16, 1980, he was licensed and ordained as a minister by his father, Reverend Robert Crumbley, at the Upper Sardis Baptist Church, Richland, Georgia.

After moving away to Newnan, he joined the St. Peters Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Curtis, where he served until his demise. He loved gospel music, especially quartet singing. He sang with the men’s group in his church, The Men of God. Sam traveled and sang all over Southwest Georgia with many gospel groups. His life was an example of Faith, Hard Work and Dedication. Sam loved to cook Sunday dinners, and holidays were always special for his family because he had just that touch with every dish he prepared. Sam enjoyed traveling, fishing, and driving trucks. He was employed with Express Carrier in Dekalb County. He also drove for B.A.H. Boaty’s and Crane during his career.

Sam was united into holy matrimony to Jennifer Johnson on May 5, 2000. To this union four children were born: Jerrell, Jaylen, Jasmine and Jordan. All his life he had a passion and love for family. As a young man, there was always something special about how he cared for his siblings. He loved and spoiled his kids and grands. He always went the extra mile to make sure all their needs were met, especially his grands as he called them “Papa’s Babies”. He was stern in his message, but everything was purely out of love. He had a heart of gold. On Sunday, June 19, 2022, the Lord said to him Servant of God well done, come on home, you can take your rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Leroy, Willie Edward, Mary Ann, Pearlene Cottle, Marvin, and Helen McMurray.

He leaves many memories to his wife, Mrs. Jennifer Crumbley of Newnan, Georgia; his children: Lawrence Holt of Macon, Georgia, Samuel Crumbley Jr. of Stockbridge, Georgia, Jarrell Johnson, Jaylen Crumbley, Jasmine Crumbley and Jordan Crumbley all of Newnan, Georgia; grandchildren: Zack Waters, Lawrence Holt Jr., Kinadie Holt, Laurynn Holt, Janae Johnson and Jaxon Williams; siblings: Ruby (James) Herron of Westerville, Ohio, Maxine Crumbley of Greenville, South Carolina, Zelma Crumbley of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Debra (Pastor George) Monts of Americus, Georgia, Pasty (Robert) Ford of Buena Vista, Georgia, William Crumbley of Americus, Georgia, Robert (Myrtice) Crumbley of Buena Vista, Georgia and Essie (Johnny) Robinson of College Park, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends: Deacon Sanford Cousins and families on Highway 26 Buena Vista, Georgia.
