The Funeral Service for Mr. Billy Sanders of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy 26 E, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

Billy Sanders was born on September 20, 1962 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Richard and Martha Martin Sanders. Billy grew up in Montezuma, Georgia and attended D.F. Douglass High School. Until his retirement, Billy was employed for many years at Blue Bird Body Company in Fort Valley, Georgia. 

At an early age, Billy accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Harrison Chapel Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia.  He later moved his membership and joined New Hope Baptist Church.  Billy loved life, especially the special moments he shared with his family. He believed in keeping family relationships strong.  He enjoyed family outings and hosting family gatherings.  He was a BIG fan of the Atlanta Falcons. 

Billy passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Houston County Medical Center in Warner Robins, Georgia.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings:  Vivian Sanders, Richard Sanders, Jr. and Timothy Kaigler.

Beautiful memories will forever be cherished by: his devoted wife of thirty-three years, Marsha Sanders of Montezuma, Georgia; his daughters: Ashley Sanders and Tyra Sanders, both of Montezuma, Georgia, Lashunda (Kareem) Burnam of Fairburn, Georgia and Jacinta Bush of Montezuma, Georgia; his grandchildren: Jalyn and Jamari Whitaker and Jade Glee, all of Montezuma, Georgia; his sisters, Glenda Sanders of Montezuma, Georgia and Martha Ann Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia; his brother, Rodney (Minnie) Sanders of Warner Robins, Georgia; his aunts:  Annette Smith of Montezuma, Georgia and Mary Hill and Roberta (Robert) Stockner of Naples, Florida; his uncle, Thomas Sanders of Montezuma, Georgia; a special cousin, Archie Sanders; his godson, Nasir Haslem; special “bonus” grandchildren: Aria and Dylan Mills and Kadence Hillman; a host of loving cousins, family and friends.
