The Funeral Service for Mr. Otisteen Smith of Americus, GA will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 1:00 at Friendship Baptist Church on Cotton Ave in Americus, GA. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others. 

Mr. Otisteen Smith, affectionately known as "Soup Bone" and "Too Sweet", was born October 10, 1952, to the late Olden and Willie L. Smith in Americus, Georgia. He was a 1972 graduate of Americus High School and an active basketball player for Staley High School and Americus High School. One of the main things he loved more than sports was music and singing. He sang in several bands: The Impac, Mighty Night Band, Little Mickey, and the Sticks of Dynamite. He was a legend in his music, always singing in bands and wherever his fun style was in demand. He entertained the crowds with his singing and his James Brown style of dancing.

Otisteen passed away on April 13, 2022, at Phoebe Sumter Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by one brother Olden Smith Jr., his grandparents, Cora Smith of Andersonville, Georgia, Jennie Ingram and Leroy Ingram of Americus, Georgia, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Sonny and Liza Goober of Americus, Georgia.

So sorry to hear we lost Otisteen to that enemy death. He was a fun loving young man and will be missed. May the family trust in the Almighty God for strength to endure this pain. Keep the good memories of wonderful times shared with him close to your heart.

To Liz, the Smith, and Goober family, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.  May Almighty God comfort you as you grieve the loss of your loved one.  And may the loving memories shared with Otisteen be a source of comfort to you now and in the days ahead. So sorry for your loss.
