A Graveside Service for Ms. Angela Lashone Bess of Smithville, GA will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Jerusalem Grove Baptist Church, 211 Rhodes Street, Smithville, GA with Rev. Angela LaShone Bess was born on December 25, 1965, in Terrell County, Georgia to the late Henry Bess Sr. and Gussie Mae Thomas Bess. She was educated in the Lee County School System. Angela peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at her home in Smithville, GA. She was preceded in death by an aunt Marie Barner.
Angela leaves precious memories with her only child, Ansley (Marquitta) Darnell Bess; her mother, Gussie Mae Thomas Bess; one grandchild, Ansleyiah Bess; three sisters: Teresa Lawson, Smithville, GA, Loretta (Tony) Berryhill, Americus, GA and Tara Kleckley, Dunkirk, New York; two brothers: William Bess, Smithville, GA and Michael (Lisa) Bess, Dunkirk, New York; one brother-in-law, Tony Berryhill, Americus, GA; four aunts: Carrie Thomas, Annie (George) Peoples, Doris (Williams) Angry and Patricia Thomas all of Smithville, GA; five uncles: Douglas Cutts and Charlie (Linda) Thomas, Smithville, GA, William (Mary) Thomas, Leslie, GA, Wardel (Diane) Thomas, Richland, GA and Leon (Phillis) Thomas, Virginia; a great aunt, Mary French, Smithville, GA; several nieces and nephews, including a devoted niece, Whitney Bess, Americus, GA, and several nephews including a devoted nephew, Maurice Bess, Smithville, GA; loving and devoted friends: Pete Howzine, Monica Hicks, Stephanie Johnson and Brenda Harris. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
