Ms. Vera Mae Jackson was born on November 2, 1936 to the late Theodore Jackson, Sr. and Lois Jackson. At a young age she gave her life to Christ. She attended Ebenezer Baptist Church School until third grade when she became legally blind.

Vera was a unique person. Even though she was legally blind as a child, she continued to live a complete and successful life.  She raised her children and after her daughter Monique died she raised her grandchildren.  She also helped raise her great grandchildren until God called her home. Vera never used a cane or seeing eye dog. She did everything by her instincts.  What a remarkable Woman!

God called her home on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Monique Jackson and a sister, Loistine Mumbie.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion County, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

She leaves precious memories with her daughter, Katricia Jackson; one brother, Theodore R. “Buddy” Jackson; one sister, Evelyn Freeman; her caretaker and granddaughter, Christine Weatherspoon along with her other grandchildren: Erneisha Jackson, Jarvarious Spivey, Jonteria Spivey, Jontiniqua Spivey, Creosha Weatherspoon, Lapatra Brockman and Patrown Brockman; thirteen great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
