The Funeral Service for Mr. J.C. Oliver of Byromville, Georgia will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Holiness Church, 324 Engram Street, Montezuma, Georgia with Elder Michael Coley officiating.  Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue practicing social distancing for your safety and for the protection of others.

J.C. Oliver was born to the parentage of the late Isiah and Delia Green Oliver.  Until his health failed, he was a faithful deacon at First United Holiness Church in Montezuma, Georgia.  For twenty-one years, J.C. was the co-owner of Macon County Cleaners in Montezuma, Georgia.  He retired from Mullite of America (Mulcoa) of Andersonville.  He also worked at Lilliston of Cordele, Georgia, McKenzie Freezing Plant of Montezuma, Georgia.  J.C. also worked in the pulpwood industry, construction work, plumbing and carpentry industry in Macon County and Dooly County. 

J.C. was the youngest of six children who all preceded him in death:  Bertha Smith, Willie Kate Smith, Sam Oliver, Sr., Milton Milton and Lula B. Childs; He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Iradean Oliver; one goddaughter, Linda Cephus; one granddaughter, Shelvia Bailey; and one great-grandson, Kyree Wallace Young. 

Left with cherished memories are:  his wife of 64 years, Hettie K. Jordan Oliver; his children:  Willie (Cornelia) Oliver, Isiah (Melody) Oliver, Ralph (Karen) Oliver, Kenneth (Evelyn) Oliver, Sr., Michael (Marie) Oliver, Gloria J. Oliver, Selma (Kenneth) Whitaker and Sheila Clinton; other children:  Dorothy Jones, Willie (Carolyn) Childs, Eddie Childs, John Childs and Ann (Wayman) Jessie; god-daughter, Cassandra (Howard) James;  seventeen grandchildren: Letita (Tommy) Henry, Stephanie Bailey, Ralph (Courtney) Oliver, Jr., Lazensky Oliver, Latasha (Thomas) Felder, Kenneth (Chris) Oliver, Jr., Chantilly (Antwann) Cross, Malencia (George) Almond, Janescia Harvey, Leah Oliver, Demetria (Terrence) Atkinson, Clodelia Mack, Dallas (MC) Gordon, Nefirtary Oliver, Milandria Oliver, Darius Clinton and Jamie (Ricardo) Hinds; sixteen great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Josephine (Freddie) Arscott; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:  Annie Ruth Oliver, Ralph Jordan, Franklin (Anita) Jordan, Sr., Joseph (Claretha) Jordan, Sr., James Jordan, Robert (Linda) Turner, David (Geraldine) Turner, Arther (Mae) Jordan, Ronnie Jordan, Ruby Williams, Catherine Butler and Callie Turner; other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends, including three special ladies of the First United Holiness Church:  Elder Jessie Mae Canady, Mother Gussie Harris and Sister Iris Ridley.
