Bertha Mae Williams, affectionately known as “Bit”, was born April 21, 1939 in the Old Corinth area of Americus, GA.  She is the daughter of the late L.C. Knight and Eva Mae Clark.   Bertha was the first of eight children.  As a child she lived in Orlando and Tampa, FL, but spent the majority of her life in Americus. She was educated in the Sumter County School System and worked in manufacturing until she became disabled in 1988.  Bertha was a dedicated and faithful member of the New Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served faithfully as an usher and Mother of the church, until she went home to live with Jesus. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Staley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mathis Wright officiating.

Bertha quietly departed this life Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Emory Decatur Hospital in Decatur, GA. Along with her parents, preceding her in death is her son Larry Anderson, granddaughter LaShun Eula Anderson, sisters Julia Mae (Della) Mann, Ruthie Lee Lewis, Rebecca Ann Mann and Nancy Ann Mann.  

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving daughter Kathryn Anderson (Greg) McGrady of Covington, GA; granddaughter Ashley Brooke Huger (Michael) Pass of Stone Mountain, GA; great-granddaughters Tylecia Ethel Anderson, Keziyah Alexis Anderson, and Aria Brené Pass; great-grandson, Keelan Anderson; siblings Mattie Williams, Louise (Antonie) Gunder, and Robert Forrest Mann of Americus, GA; beloved nieces and nephews who called her Auntee and a host other relatives and friends also survived.
