Mrs. Emma Ruth Walton Lewis was the second oldest of eight children born to the parentage of the late Mr. J. B. (Stag) Walton and the late Mrs. Emma Mae Brantley Walton of Americus, Georgia. She attended school at Westside Elementary School in Plains, Georgia and at Sumter County High School, Americus, GA.
She was preceded in death by her older brother J. B. Walton, Jr. on December 15, 2020 in Miami, Florida. Mrs. Lewis passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. The Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Americus, Georgia. Mrs. Lewis joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later united with the First Albany Deliverance Cathedral in Albany, Georgia under the leadership of the late Apostle Isaiah Revills. She later came with Pastor Rosa Fowler to Americus to the United Holiness Deliverance Temple, now under the leadership of Pastor Michael Fowler.
She is survived by her husband Mr. Albert Lewis; two daughters: Shavonne Renee Lewis and Tamara Lewis; one son, Eric Lewis (LaTondia) all of Americus, Georgia; one step-daughter, Geisla Lewis, Americus, GA; five grandchildren: Tas’janna, Aamiya, Ja’rod, Navione and Elijah; two step-grandchildren: Michael and Mi’Yonna; her siblings: Reatha Greene, Dr. Mattie P. Walton, Eunice (James) Hawkins, Americus, GA, Willie Bell Walton, Smithville, GA, James and Johnny Walton, Miami, FL; three aunts: Mrs. Ozie Mae Walton, Albany, GA, Catherine Volley and Susie Wafford, Americus, GA; one uncle, Rev. W.G. Grover, Leslie, GA. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
