The Graveside Service for Mrs. Annie Mae Hooten of Fort Valley, Georgia will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Willow Lake Memorial Gardens, 1578 Willow Lake Road, Fort Valley, Georgia with Pastor Victor Johnson officiating. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you please MASK UP and practice social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

Mrs. Annie Mae Hightower-Hooten was born October 28, 1938 in Andersonville, Georgia to the late Willie Hightower and Queen Ester Baker Hightower. Annie Mae attended the public schools of Macon County and was a graduate of the Historic D.F. Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia. Annie Mae was a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She worked at the Oaks Nursing Home for many years and retired at Fort Valley Healthcare.

As fate would have it, she married the love of her life, the late Edward Lee Hooten, affectionately called “Bubba”. To this union five children were born: Charlie, Robert, Willie, Annie and Mary. She was a loving wife and mother with a lot of determination. She confessed Christ as her personal savior and joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Marshallville, Georgia.

On Friday morning, October 30, 2020, while a patient at the Houston Medical Center, her Heavenly Father called her name and she answered. Precious memories of Annie Mae will forever be shared by her family. She will always be remembered as being outspoken and having a great sense of humor.  

Left to cherish her memories are three devoted sons: Charlie (Miranda) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Robert (Sharon) of Fort Valley, Georgia and Willie (Chemika) of Alabama; three devoted daughters: Mary of Marshallville, Georgia, Annie (Corey) of Montezuma, Georgia and Mary of Warner Robins, Georgia; two sisters: Amanda of Atlanta, Georgia and Odell of Stuvenville, Ohio; six devoted granddaughters: Michelle and Princeta (Brian) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Amber and Pamela (Paul) of Marshallville, Georgia, Jasmine (Kyle) of North Carolina, Azoevia of Montezuma, Georgia and her Caregiver for many years, Shalandra (Angelo) of Fort Valley, Georgia; nine grandsons: Dwayne (Erica) and Marvin (Pam) of Perry, Georgia, Thomas of Alabama, Derek (Shimeka) of Warner Robins, Georgia, SH-E3 Corey Ogburn of Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida, Darrius of Marshallville, Georgia, Caleb and Jaquavious of Warner Robins, Georgia; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
