The graveside service for Mrs. Cornelia H. Moore of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Harris officiating. Viewing at our walk-up window will be on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 11:00 to 7:30.

Mrs. Cornelia Hawkins Moore was born on July 8, 1939 in Sumter County, Georgia to the late Lillian Denson Hawkins and the late Buster Hawkins. At an early age, she joined the Old Shady Grove Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Mountain Creek A.M.E. Church. She was a graduate of A.S. Staley High School.
On April 24, 1958 she married the love of her life, Henry Moore, Sr. "Su-Gal", as she was affectionately known, was employed as Cafeteria Manager at Cherokee School for over 44 years. While working there she won numerous awards for her baking. She passed on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Henry Moore, Sr.; her son, Henry “Tiger” Moore, Jr.; one grandson James Elliott Moore; two sisters: Bertha Floyd and Geraldine Kimbrough; two brothers-in-law: David Moore and George Moore, Jr.; three sisters-in-law: Julia Mae Edge, Meland Hawkins and Mattie K. Moore; a devoted friend, Clarence Lewis; and a god-daughter, Ynessa Pine. She also served as a mother figure to many including several relatives and friends.
