A graveside service for Mr. Claude Dodson, Jr. of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Eastview Cemetery with Rev, George F. Monts officiating.

Mr. Claude Dodson, Jr. was born in Americus, Georgia on May 25, 1947 to the late Gussie Dodson and the late Claude Dodson, Sr. He was educated in the Sumter County School System. Claude was employed by the city of Americus where he retired after 25 years of service. He was married 48 years to the late Jeanette Sims Dodson. He was also preceded in death by four sisters: Susie Mae Green, Elizabeth Rycraw, Florence Porter and Wynelle Arnett; one grandson, Lawarrior Gardner and a great grandson, Kadarian Bartlett. Mr. Dodson passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.
Left to cherish his memories are his children: Kimberly Goober of Columbus Georgia, Velma Sims, Latressa Dodson, Angienette Dodson Williams and Carla Dodson all of Americus, Georgia; one sister, Jauanita Thomas. 22 grandchildren, Claude Anthony Johnson, Tawana Watts, Latoya Watts, Tiffany Stewart, Crystal Stewart, Tayvis Dodson, Quinterrious Dodson, Shirahz Dodson, Ruhemmeion King, Jr., Dreamisha King, Mike Dodson, Aiyanna Brown, Gilbert Brown, Jr., James Wilson, Jr., Caleb Dodson, Teera Bartlett, Kandice Bartlett, Asia Jackson, Briceston Jackson and a devoted granddaughter, Kenyatta Dodson, that he raised as his own child; 42 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, including devoted nephews, Willie Drains and Thaddeus Drains; a devoted niece, Sharron Thomas; Cousins other relatives and loving friends also survive.
