The funeral service for Mr. Willie James Smith of Americus, Georgia will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Allen Chapel AME Church. Burial will follow at the Andersonville National Cemetery. 

Willie James Smith was born in Sumter County, Georgia on June 14, 1934 to the late Mr. Wayman Smith and the late Mrs. Willie Bell Ellis Smith. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. He was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the GWF Phillips Lodge number 691. Mr. Smith served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959.  He was employed at Davidson Textron for 30 years.

Mr. Willie James Smith peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 13, 2019. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mamie Lou Smith and brothers Fred Smith and Sammy Lee Smith.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of forty-nine years, Mrs. Mary Dean Smith; eight children: Ricky (Pamela) Ingram, James F Smith, Deborah (Jerome) Clayton, Kirkland (Doris) Smith, Kenyatta Smith, Bridget Wright all of Americus Georgia, Sandra (Clyde Jr) Lord of Atlanta, Georgia and Martha Jean Allen of New Jersey; four sisters:  Mary Smith, Fannie Smith, Geneva Thompson and Martha (Pacie) Butler; five brothers: Hugh Smith, Thomas (Pauline) Smith, George Smith, Elton (Audrey) Smith and Waymon (Fannie) Smith: fourteen grandchildren: Yameia (Jason), Jalisa, Deneen ( Kendrick), Amanda, Christopher, Khorderrius, Kirlandria, Clyde III, Gabrielle, Kendrica, Justus, Kennedy, Jyrese and Talyor; two great grandchildren: Jayla and Kayla; and a host of nieces including a devoted niece, Linda Smith, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a devoted friend Gene Engram.

Knowing wicker was a very great delight.  He treated everyone good he love peoples no one was a stranger to him I know he will be miss but we all have that hope of seeing our love ones again in the near future because the almighty God gives us that hope at (John 5:28,29).I am so sorry for your loss
