Memorial Service for James “Sweet Baby” Gee will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First SDA Church of Teaneck 405 E Englewood Ave, Teaneck, NJ 07666

James Gee was born on February 19, 1939 in Enfield, North Carolina to the late Alex and Arlene Gee. He was the oldest boy of five brothers and three sisters.

James grew up and attended high school in Enfield, NC where he enjoyed singing and spending time with his family and friends. He performed at multiple high schools and talent shows across the state with a group called the “Night Trainers”. Shortly after graduation, James moved to Newark, NJ and opened a barber shop. A few years later he met and married Dorothy Gee, with whom he was united in love for over 50 years. The couple purchased a home in Fanwood, NJ and eventually went into business together. They were successful entrepreneurs dealing in real estate and entertainment for over 40 years. James was also the father of one devoted and caring son Quron. The family traveled often and enjoyed life to the fullest.

In his adult years James founded an a capella group “Just Brothers”. They performed throughout the tri-state area and appeared on numerous tv and radio shows. The group was also tapped to sing at the NJ Governor’s inaugural ball. His magnetic personality and love for performing and singing was ever present throughout his life.

James and Dorothy retired in 2004 and moved to Albany Ga. On Sunday, January 20th, 2019 James departed this world and peacefully transitioned to a greater fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Gee, his parents, Alex and Arlene Gee, and his sister, Lottie Bailey. His legacy of love, sharing, and a sweet spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of his son Quron (Danielle) Gee; grandsons Parker Gee and Logan Gee; brothers Floyd, Alexander Jr., Larry, and Rev. A.L. Gee; two sisters Violet Arlene and Beverly Hamlin and a host of caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

To family and friends my deepest sympathies to you for the loss of your love one. Losing a loved one in death is very painful.
The Bible offers a wonderful hope for our loved ones who have died. The Scriptures found at
John 5:28,29 and Isaiah 26:19 promise that our loved ones who have died can live again!
May the God of all comfort and tender mercies sustain you at this difficult time.
2 Corinthians 1:3,4

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.  Even though we may know the day will come but losing a loved one in death always leaves us with grief and heartache.  So may the "God of all comfort", who comforts us in all our trials and tribulation be a source of comfort to each of you during this most difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)  God will actually swallow up death forever. (Isaiah 25:8,9)  With deepest sympathy.
