Funeral Services for Mr. William Holmes, better known as “Flappy” will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dooling, GA with Pastor Jerry J. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Mr. Holmes passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Pinehill Nursing Center in Byromville, Georgia.
Flappy grew up in Dooly County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He worked for over twenty years as a forklift operator at Georgia Pacific until his retirement.
His memories will forever be cherished by his wife of 51 years, Annie Pearl Holmes of Byromville, Georgia; brothers and sisters: Raphael Holmes of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Hattie Mae Holmes of Byromville, Georgia, Willie Oscar Holmes (Betty) of Montezuma, Georgia, Oscar Holmes of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Sidney Holmes (Mary) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Eloise Moore of Montezuma, Georgia; his aunt, Susie Mae Walker of Orlando, Florida; his uncle, Edward B. Leary of Akron, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
