Graveside services for Mrs. Ozie Mae Charles of Chicago, IL formerly of Montezuma, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Champ Waters Cemetery in Montezuma, GA.

 Mrs. Ozie Mae Charles was born November 24, 1930 in Montezuma, GA, to the union of the late John Henry Potter and the late Mariah Brown Willis Allen. Ozie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Light House Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Bernice Johnson. She later united in fellowship at God Holy Ghost Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Theodus Jones. Ozie worked for several years at Marshall Field’s Department Store in Oak Brook, IL until she retired. She is preceded in death by her loving sister Louise Willis Allen of Montezuma GA, and her brother Jack Potter of Jackson, TN.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerome Williams of Atlanta, Georgia formerly of Americus, Georgia, will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. In the Chapel of West's Mortuary in Americus, Georgia with Pastor Robert Douglass Graulich officiating.  Burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery. 

Mr. Jerome Williams was born on January 16, 1951 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie C. Burkes, Sr. and the late Mrs. Emma C. Burkes. Jerome received his education through the public school system of Sumter County.  He was a 1969 graduate of A. S. Staley High School in Americus GA. He joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. J. L. Wilson.  Later, he moved to Atlanta GA, where he joined The Transformation Covenant Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Douglas Graulich. He was employed by the Sweetheart Ice Cream Cone Factory of Atlanta, GA for 20 years, also, the Shepherd Center in Food Service, Atlanta, GA. 

Mr. Williams passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father, the late Willie C. Burkes, mother the late Mrs. Emma C. Burkes and biological mother the late, Mrs. Annie Catherine Williams.

Mrs. Carol Lynn Styles-McCoy age 46 of Plains, Georgia died on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John A.M.E. Church with Pastor Shirley Strawter officiating. Burial will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery.  

Ms. Carol Lynn Styles-McCoy was born in Plains, Georgia on April 9, 1968 to Rev. Arthur L. Styles and Mrs. Mildred H. Styles.  She attended the public school system in Sumter County and was a 1986 graduate of Sumter County Comprehensive High School. Carol was employed for several years at Magnolia Manor and Lillian Carter Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by one son, Antonious J. McCoy, one brother, Arthur J. Styles, her grandparents: Nettie King, Charlie Styles, Eddie L. Edwards and Louis Hardy.  

She leaves to mourn her passing her parents: Rev. Arthur L. Styles and Mrs. Mildred H. Styles; one daughter, Ms. Aderica N. Johnson; two sons: Mr. Erik B. James and Mr. Derik D James all of Plains, GA; three sisters: Mrs. Dorothy J. (William) Moore, Ms. Angela M. Styles-Tyson and Mrs. Kristy N. (Karl) Johnson both of Plains, GA; two brothers: Mr. Johnnie F. Styles of Orlando, Florida and Mr. Kelvin B. Funeral services for Mr. Bural Thomas Wade, Jr. affectionately known as "Boy" will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Bernard Maddox officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Creek A.M.E. Church Cemetery.

 Mr. Bural Thomas Wade Jr. was born on May 7, 1953 in Sumter County GA, the fifth of ten children born to the union of the late B T Wade and the late Lizzie Pearl Wade.  At an early age he joined the Mountain Creek AME Church.  He was educated in the Sumter County School System. He served in the US Army and worked diligently as a bus driver for the Sumter County School System.   

During the early spring morning of Monday, May 19, 2013, the Heavenly Father made a visit to the bedside of Brother Bural Thomas Wade Jr. and said Boy Wade, my good and faithful servant, let’s take a ride. You have fought a good fight.  You kept the faith. Now let’s go home and rest.  

Bural was someone you loved to be around and he enjoyed life.  He was a stranger to no one. Boy had a big heart and had a big smile.  He was a very special brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Bural was a man of profound strength and courage.  He was kind, gentle and had a sweet and pleasing personality. He was kind and compassionate. He was affectionately known by his family, as Boy Wade. He loved his family and his family loved him.  He was not only loved by his family but also by his friends.  The children loved him and wanted to be in his company.  He also wanted a hug and kiss. He also had a rare sense of humor.

He leaves to cherish his memories five children: NeKeisha (Keithon) Smith of Leesburg, Georgia. LaKista (Valerie) McCuller, Cameo Wade, Jeremy Lyles and Jamal (Whitney) Lyles of Americus Georgia; three stepchildren: Shaykerria Volley , Leonardo Bateman, and Bianca Little (deceased) of Americus Georgia;   six grandchildren: Lakista McCuller Jr., Kelsey Cruz, De’Asia Goober, Jakobe McCuller, Keithon Smith Jr., and Myla McCuller of Americus; one great-grandchild: Lakista McCuller, III; eight sisters: Betty Dean of Orlando Florida, Sara (A.J) Mills, Earnestine (Willie) Colbert, of Andersonville Georgia, Carolyn Cooper of Leslie Georgia, Dr. Oneida (Arthur) Ingram, Amanda (Tony) Cooper of Americus Georgia, Brenda (Melville) Griffin, and April Wade of Atlanta Georgia; one brother: Earl (Annie) Wade of Americus Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a countless caring and supporting friends which include a devoted caregiver Sgt. She is survived by three daughters: Rudine Ross Harris and Mary Louise Ross George both of Americus, Georgia and Pat Wynell Banks (Eddie) White of Miami Florida; four devoted granddaughters: Kimberly Cobb and Jade Harris both of Americus, Georgia, Carlisa Ross of Mableton, Georgia and Jasmine Harris of Norfolk, Virginia; eleven other grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one great aunt Lillian Bell of Macon, GA. Mr. Clarence Harp age 48 of Reynolds, Georgia affectionately known as “Grandaddy” & “Gramp” passed on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Taylor County High School Auditorium. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Clarence Harp was a native of Taylor County and was a 1984 graduate of the Taylor County High School. He was formerly employed by D. Lance Souther, Inc. of Macon. He is survived by a wife Ponthea Nicol Harp, two sons Pierre Lee, Clarence Walter Harp, Jr. Parents Willie Bubba Harp & Helen Knowlton Harp, Brothers: Willie (Tina) Harp, Jr. Trini (Symanthia Harp, Demetra (Ramonia) Bivins, Sisters: Deborah (Lewis) Jordon, Nichole Howard, Constance Harp, Shanesia Harp.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lonnie Mae Harris of Railroad Street Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Mathis Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Staley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Harris died on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

Mrs. Lonnie Mae Harris was born in Americus, Georgia on October 9, 1929 to the late Willie and Lampteen Martin. Mrs. Harris professed her faith in Christ at a very young age and joined the Union Grove Baptist Church, where she served as Mother of the Church until her health failed. She was a member of Habakkuk Chapter #70 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Harris was employed by Sumter Regional Hospital in housekeeping for 29 years. In 1945 she met and married her devoted husband of 64 years, Mr. Romeo Harris, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Harris was also preceded in death by one son Deacon Romeo Harris, Jr., one brother, Mr. Willie Lee Martin and a grandson SSGT. Johnny B. Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three devoted children: Virgirie Harris-Thomas and Eric B. Mr. John Lee Joiner, son of the late Clovis and Iona Colzie Joiner, was born May 27, 1927 in Perry, Florida. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Oglesby and two children: Veronica Thornton and John Lee Jones. John, better known as “Rick”, was educated in the Macon County School System. He later served his country honorably in the U. S. Army. He departed this life on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Annette C.
