The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Vindier Gore of Fort Valley, Georgia will be conducted Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Cathedral of Praise Ministries, 1440 Camp John Hope Road, Fort Valley, Georgia with Bishop Timothy Deas, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Montezuma, Georgia.

Vindier Renay Gore, lovingly known as “Peaches,” was born on March 25, 1967, in Fort Valley, Georgia, to the parents of Bobby Gore and the late Annie Ruth Gore. On May 27, 2025, Vindier peacefully transitioned from this life, having faithfully served her family, community, and God throughout her journey. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Annie Ruth Gore, and her dear sister, Lawanda K. Gore.

At a young age, Vindier gave her life to Christ under the spiritual guidance of her grandmother, Evangelist Arabelle Brown, at Brown’s Chapel in Marshallville, Georgia. Her faith would remain the foundation of her life, and she would go on to serve in many ministries with devotion and joy.

Vindier graduated from Peach County High School in 1986. She began her career at Bibb Manufacturing Company, where she worked diligently for over 20 years. After the closure of Bibb, she went on to serve several years at Blue Bird Body Company. Her compassionate spirit led her to caregiving, where she worked as a private healthcare aide, nursing patients back to health and offering companionship with kindness and grace.

Later in life, Vindier became an active and devoted member of Greater Cathedral of Praise Ministries, formerly led by the late Bishop Titus Deas Sr. and now under the leadership of Bishop Timothy Deas Sr. She held the role of District Usher for several years, faithfully serving until her health began to decline. Her love for ministry was evident in all she did. She was passionate about praise dancing, women’s ministry, ushering, and embracing every opportunity to serve in the house of the Lord.

Though faced with health challenges, Vindier approached each day with joy and purpose. She was known for her love of life and unwavering connection to her family. Whether for holidays, birthdays, or “just because,” she made it a point to reach out, celebrate, and show love to family near and far.

Vindier’s legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons: Terry Oglesby and Darius McKenzie both of Fort Valley, GA; her siblings: Danyell Barry (Keith) of Perry, GA, Garnett Riley of Warner Robins, GA, and Carmen Gore and Christine Gore of Cincinnati, OH; her cherished grandchildren: Sinai Wootson, Kobe Towns, Don’Travious Oliver, Da’Quavious Oliver, Andrea “Patti” Jolly, Darius McKenzie Jr., and Empress Green; and her precious great-grandchildren: Bryce Wootson, Kavis Walters, and Jermani Towns.

She is also survived by her loving nieces: Falisea Watkins and LaShandra Watkins both of Perry, GA; and her devoted aunts: Rosa Walker of Buffalo, NY, Ruthanne (Preston) Tolliver of Chicago, IL, Icola J. Poe of West Point, MS, Debra Lewis of Chicago, IL, and Betty Brown of Miami, FL; Her very special spiritual godmother and dear family friend, Mrs. Inez (Sammie) Harris - who has stood faithfully with the family since before Vindier was born—also remains to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind many cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends who will miss her deeply.

The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Markelia Thomas of Plains, Georgia will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.

Markelia Kisha Thomas was born on February 26, 1988, to Meshia Williams (Lawrance Williams) and Norman Williams. She accepted Christ at an early age at Lebanon Baptist Church. Markelia was educated in the Sumter County School System. She was employed at Sumter Retirement Village as a CNA, and later she worked as a Home Health Aide.

On Monday, May 26, 2025, the Lord called his precious child home. Our beloved slipped away quietly, for she knew to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Mammie L Thomas and Louise Williams; her grandfathers: John Williams and Woodrow Thomas Jr.; her nephew, Dejean Glover Jr.; and her cousins: Autumn and Anthony Thomas. 

Her legacy of love will forever be cherished by her parents: Meshia Williams (Lawrence) and Norman Williams: her grandmother, Mae Ola King; her nieces and nephews: Mila Allen, Kaiden Wilson, Jaide Boone, and Alexander Thrower; her sisters: Qwenaira Morgan, Alesha Williams, Shavonne Edwards, and Raquel Francis; her brothers: Courtney Williams and Lawrence Williams, Jr. (Amanda); her devoted aunties: Lillie Pearl Height, Annie Ross, Leta Thompson (John), Bernice Pennyman, Barbara Greene (Willie), Beverly Jackson, Dorothy June Jenkins, Queen Thurston, Cheryl Jowers, Hattie Butler (Tommy), Marolyn Ferguson (George), and Annie Williams (Lord); her uncles: Stanley Thomas and Frank Williams; devoted cousins: Shantae Brown (Fernando), Nayana Jowers, and Calandra Jowers; her best friend, Samaiya Mobley (Kalvin); her loving and devoted caretakers: Qwenaira Morgan and Meshia Williams; other loving relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Naquivia “Pooh-Pooh” Kleckley of Albany, Georgia will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Whole Truth International Ministries on S. Lee Street in Americus, Georgia.

Naquivia Shantae Kleckley, daughter of Carolyn Kleckley, was born in Americus, Georgia on April 4, 1987. She worked for several years as a visiting nurse. Naquivia passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her home in Albany, Georgia.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her loving family which includes her mother, Carolyn Kleckley; two brothers: Jaquavious White and Jamian Garrett; other relatives and friends.

The Graveside Service for Mrs. Pattie Collier Young of Americus, Georgia will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Eastview Cemetery, Americus, Georgia.

Pattie Jean Collier Young was born August 07, 1949. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and was a 1968 graduate of Staley High School. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her personal Savior and joined Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Americus, Georgia. For over thirty years she was employed with the Sumter County School System in Americus, Georgia as a Paraprofessional until her health began to fail.

Pattie passed away on May 16, 2025, at The Haven Place, Americus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Yolanda Collier Pinkston; mother, Celia Rea Collier; sisters: Renee Leverett, Jacquelin Patterson Rolle, Azzee Wade, and Linda McWhorter; grandmother, Addie Rea Collier; grandfather, Charlie Collier; father, Dowdy Cleveland; aunt, Betty Collier Haines; uncle, Bennie Lee Collier; and nephews: Nathaniel and Travon Patterson.

The Graveside Service for Mr. Thomas James Bartley will be held Monday, May 12, 2025, at noon at Eastview Cemetery, 802 Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.

Thomas James Bartley was born on July 9, 1945, in Americus, Georgia to Ludie Waters Bartley and Leonard Bartley. Raised in Americus, Thomas attended the Sumter County School System. Early in his professional career, Thomas was a Master Carpenter. Later he became a Custodial Engineer for the Americus Public School System, from which he retired.

Thomas embodied the true spirit of a gentleman- honest, loyal, and always ready to help those in need. With unwavering integrity, he offered support without expecting anything in return. His quiet presence brought comfort to those around him. 

Thomas passed away on May 4, 2025, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ernestine Mann; his brothers: Leonard Bartley Jr. and Jimmy Bartley; a daughter, Sandra Ann Reese; and a loyal companion, Lena Harris Little.

Thomas is survived by a loving family which includes his daughter, Fleisha Bartley; a devoted stepdaughter, Harriet Little Holmes; a sister, Gwendolyn Williamson (Eddie); and a brother, Terry Bartlett. He is also survived by three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends- notably Walter “Red” Tyson.
