The Funeral Service for Mrs. Rosa Mae Clemons of Americus,Georgia will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Whole Truth International Ministries, Inc. at 502 S Lee Street Americus, Georgia.

Rosa Mae Clemons was born on February 12, 1933, in Andersonville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Roy Albert Kleckley, Sr. and Rosa Lee Kleckley. Rosa loved fishing, and she was affectionately known as “The Fishing Lady” and “Roe Mae”. Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Nana”. Rosa had twenty-two grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren, and twenty-four great-great grandchildren. She created a women’s fishing group that would fish from sunup to sundown. Rosa was a staple in the Sunset Park Community. She also loved flowers and working in her flowerbeds and gardens. Rosa was also a life member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter Ellaville Light #323.

Rosa transitioned to glory on March 31, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Roy, Sr. and Rosa Lee Kleckley; her husband, John Clemons; her brothers: Roy Kleckley, Jr. and Henry Kleckley; her brothers-in-law: Thomas Clemons, Arthur Clemons, Williams Clemons, Idias Clemons, and Daniel Clemons, her sisters-in-law: Irene Kleckley, Louise Clemons Wallace, Lucille Clemons Tyson, and Katie Clemons; her daughters: Linda Clemons, Roselyn Prince, and Saverne Clemons; her granddaughter, Angelia Lusane-Cox; her grandson, John H. Clemons, Jr.; her great-great granddaughter, Kenadi Watts; her great-great grandsons: Cornelius Barker, Jr., Korneal “Kash” Barker, and Kieran High; her nephews: Henry Kleckley, Jr. and Fred Kleckley, Sr.; and her great niece, Derrica Holmes.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her children: John H. Clemons, Sr., Joseph (Cheryl) Clemons, Donald Clemons, Contrevion Clemons, and Concepi’on Clemons; her sister-in-law, Daisy Clifton; her grandchildren: Timothy Edge, Johnny Clemons, Horatio Clemons, Avian Clemons,  Laytrina (Rodney) Brown, Minkah Clemons, Bernadette (Mark) Smith, Sekeithia Lewis, Gerald Harvey, Anitra (Sheravious) Williams, Gerard Harvey, Damitria Clemons, Lakina Clemons, Lakeisha Clemons, Latricia Clemons-Hall, Jaela Clemons, Anthony Jones, Donald Clemons, Jr., T’Keyah Ruff, Jasmine Clemons, Taylor Ruff, and Isaiah Ruff; her nieces: Margaret (James) Norris, Carrie Ford, Linda Frasier, Beverly Ross, and Cynthia Hinton; her nephews: Willie C. The Homegoing Celebration for Deacon Price Bryant III of Henderson, Georgia will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 8620 Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia 31063. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Price Bryant III was born on January 20, 1941, in Houston County, Georgia to his late parents Price Bryant Jr. and Hattie Mae Mathis Bryant. Price was the youngest son of 13 children and lived a life rich with faith, family, and dedication.

From an early age, Price accepted Christ into his life, marking the beginning of his unwavering commitment to his faith. He was baptized at New Bethel Baptist Church of Unadilla, Georgia, where he worshiped for many years and served as a Sunday school teacher since the age of 19 before transferring his membership to New Hope Baptist Church of Montezuma, Georgia, in the early 1990s. At New Hope, Price became an integral part of the church community, serving in many roles, including Chairman of the Deacon Board in 2001. His love for God was the cornerstone of his life, and his actions reflected his deep devotion to living a Christ-centered existence.

Price’s educational journey began at Flint River School in Montezuma, Georgia, and culminated with his graduation from Houston County Training School in the Spring of 1959. He then attended trade school in Atlanta, Georgia, where he learned to repair televisions and radios. However, his life was rooted in the land of his family farm in Henderson, Georgia, where he worked alongside his loved ones since childhood. In addition to his farm work, Price spent several years at Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery before transitioning to a fulfilling career at Keebler Company, where he worked until his retirement in March 2003.

On December 1, 1963, Price was united in holy matrimony to Rosie Mae Brown. Their union was blessed with three sons: Terence Bryant, Rodney Bryant Sr., and Price Bryant IV. Rosie and Price were devoted to each other for 61 years, sharing a partnership grounded in mutual respect, love, and unwavering support.

Throughout his life, Price was known for his strength of character and his no-nonsense approach to life. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, people listened. His sharp intellect, kindness, and articulate nature made him a respected figure in both his family and community. Price’s work ethic was unmatched, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Above all, there was no doubt about how much he loved his family and God. Price leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He was not only a role model to his sons, but to countless others who looked to him for guidance and wisdom. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will never be forgotten.

Price was called home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2025. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Aaron, Lillian, Melvin, William, Carolyn, Patsy, Delma, Thelma, Marilyn; and his sons: Terence and Rodney.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rosie M. Bryant, Henderson, Georgia; his son, Price (Nicole) Bryant IV, Macon, Georgia; his goddaughter, Tabatha Collier, Pinehurst, Georgia; his grandchildren: Chayla Bryant, Centerville, Georgia, Rodney Bryant II, Centerville, Georgia, Alan Collier, Albany, Georgia, Tyechia (Corey) Hall, Kathleen, Georgia, and Detereayas (Cabresha) Fulks, Warner Robins, Georgia; 12 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Ara Belle (Oscar) Chaney, Unadilla, Georgia, Gladys Bryant, Warner Robins, Georgia, and Helen (Wallace) Hill, Rochester, New York; in-laws: Thelma Bryant, Unadilla, Georgia, Curtis Bryant, Rochester, New York, Mae Lee Brown, Cincinnati, Ohio, Annie Ruth Grant, Fort Myers, Florida, and David Ducree, Fort Myers, Florida; several devoted nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, church family, and friends to include his close friends: George (Phyliss) Dempsey and Cornelius Hollis.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Sarah Wright-Hoston of Americus, Georgia will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Chapel AME Church, 132 Bumphead Rd., Americus, Georgia.

Sarah Hoston, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, was born on February 15, 1928, to the late Lest and Leola Wright. Raised and educated in Americus, Georgia, she spent most of her life there, where she met Lee Alton Hoston Sr. In the late 80s, Sarah completed her education by earning a certificate in nursing.

She leaves cherished memories with her children: Lee Francis, George (Louise) Hoston, Shirley, Carolyn, Sandra (Dwight) Harris, and Sarah. Sarah was preceded in death by her sons Lee Alton Hoston, Jr., Calvin Harris, and her siblings: Charles Wright, Lonnie Wright, Toby Lee Wright, Frank Wright, Gertrude Harris, Allie Mae Cobb, Doris Wright Baisden, and Ruthena Hunter.

Her legacy includes twenty-five grandchildren which include Tamera Hoston who was loving and devoted; fifty-five great-grandchildren, and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, Pee-Wee her beloved pet dog. A family-oriented woman, Sarah was always ready to help those in need with love prayers, and support. Sarah cherished her flowers and enjoyed sitting on her porch, enjoying conversations with friends and family.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. John Wesley Engram Jr. of Hartford, Connecticut will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 8620 Highway 26, East, Montezuma, Georgia.

Mr. John Wesley Engram Jr. was born in Orlando, Florida on November 27, 1960, to Mr. John Wesley Engram Sr. and Mrs. Inez Haugabook Engram. The family moved to Detroit, Michigan while he was quite young and later John Sr. moved the family back to Montezuma, Georgia where he attended D.F. Douglass High School. “Sonny” or “Lil Sonny”, as he was affectionately called, moved to Hartford, Connecticut in the ‘80s. He was a carpenter by trade, and a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

On Tuesday, March 25, Sonny was called home to be with the Lord. He knew to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tyrone Lamar Engram, Sr.

Sonny leaves precious memories with his partner and caregiver, Loretta Long of Hartford, Connecticut; his son, Antonio Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia; his daughters: Pechelle Tomekia Engram and Susie Long both of Hartford, Connecticut; his loving grandchildren; his siblings: Morris (Francis) Engram of Detroit, Michigan, Ernestine Engram and Edward Andrew (Danielle) Engram both of Hartford, Connecticut, and Janice Engram of Montezuma, Georgia; half-brother and half-sister: Angela Robinson of Perry, Georgia and Calvin Colbert of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Marvin Hillmon of Oglethorpe, Georgia will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at United Holiness Church Headquarters, 901 Aaron Snipes Drive, Americus, Georgia. Interment will follow at Oglethorpe City Cemetery.

Marvin Hillmon was born on April 16, 1973, in Montezuma, Georgia to Mary Florence Walker Hillman and Eddie McCants. He was reared by Mary Florence Hillman and Marvin Hillman. “Motor”, as he was affectionately called, was a 1993 graduate of Macon County High School. He earned an associate degree at South Georgia Technical College and was certified as an HVAC technician.

Marvin “Motor” Hillmon departed this earthly life to be with Christ on March 19, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mary Florence Hillman, Marvin Hillman, and Eddie McCants; and one sister, Kia Hillman.

Ruby Lee Smith-Tyner, the matriarch of this family and a true beacon of love and strength, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on March 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and unwavering support.

Ruby was born on April 20, 1957, in Sumter County, Georgia to Clifford and Mae Lee Smith. Later in life, Ruby married Samuel Tyner Sr.  Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a cherished friend to countless others. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, humor, great advice, love, and she touched the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit, and radical acceptance of people. Ruby found joy in listening to music and spending time with family. Her home was always a haven of comfort and love.

Ruby is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Samuel Tyner Sr., and two (2) of her grandsons Ty’Quavious and Jahaveon. The Memorial Service for Mr. Robert Benton White of Americus, Georgia will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at The Merger on N. Lee Street in Americus, Georgia.

Robert Benton White was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 3, 1983, to Darlene Harris (George) and Robert Benton Reese (deceased). Robert, affectionately known as “Punkin or Big Punz”, was a lovable and friendly guy that everyone loved. Robert transitioned on March 9, 2025.

He leaves behind his mother, Darlene Harris (George who raised him as his own); his sister, Tiffany Reese-Sims (Dreke); brothers: Anthony Woods, Prevarius Reese, Bernard Harris (Phyllis), George Harris Jr., Johnny Key Jr., and god brother, Marc Crowder; his niece and nephew: Andrelle and Cornell Reese who were his heart and he never tired of them and was more than happy to babysit them. Robert also leaves behind his companion of seven years, Shawnte Walker.

Robert had no biological children but was a father figure to many including Jordyn, Jaxton, Jalia, and Lia Peavy. He also leaves behind his aunts: Javonne Collier, Patricia Reese, Patricia Miles, Elaina Robinson (Terry), Judy Daniels, Shirley Jowers, Symone Jowers, Tomeka Jowers, Mildred French, Debra Myers, and Lashonda Burton; his uncles: Jimmy Harris, Willie Harris, Alvin Harris (Liz), Eric Wafford, Willie Wafford, Derrick Wafford (Brenda), Eddie Wafford, Anthony Wafford, Pert Floyd, Larry Jowers, and Tyrone Jowers;  his favorite cousin, Tyrone Bridges; closest friends: Valerie Westbrook, Timothy Walton, Gotti, Alphonso Ross (Kim), Andrae Westbrook, Carlos Floyd and Lil Rod; his 30-30 family; other relatives and friends also survive.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Ruth Stafford-Miller of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 8620 GA Hwy 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery at noon on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Mrs. Ruth Stafford-Miller, daughter of the late Mr. Willie James Stafford and Mrs. Louise Young-Stafford, was born on June 5, 1951, in Crisp County, Georgia. Ruth was a 1969 graduate of A.S. Clark High School. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Sandy (Champ) Miller Jr. and to this union one child was born. Ruth was a military veteran (U.S. Army), having spent three years in Germany. Upon her discharge, Ruth held various jobs which include M&M Hair Products (Stay Soft), Eastman Kodak Company of New York, and Britt’s Dry Cleaners of Montezuma, Georgia. Ruth was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother.

On Friday, March 7, 2025, Ruth quietly departed this life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sandy Miller Jr. and her beloved aunt Willie Hayes Felder.

Ruth leaves to celebrate her memory, her son, Chaddrick (Bianca) Miller; six granddaughters: KeAmbra Green, Uriah Hudson, Shayesha Lockhart, Chadaya Miller, Anijila Lyles, and Chaya Miller; two grandsons: Shaquille Barner and Chad Miller II; one sister, Bernita West; her loving and dedicated brother, Larry Stafford and Ernie Stafford; her loving cousin, Ida Ruth Bryant; her supportive and caring nieces: Gwahshunnah Trice, Kebresha Harpe, and Lakioneshay Wilson; one nephew, Kenyada Stafford; ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews family and friends.

Mrs. Ozie Mathis Calloway of Americus, GA passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, Georgia.

Mrs. Ozie Mathis Calloway was born on Thanksgiving Day (November 23) 1927 in Americus, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Morrell Mathis and the late Mrs. Lula Bell McGrady Mathis. She was preceded in death by two children: Freddie Z. Calloway, Jr. and Connie Calloway Anthony; one great grandson: Sonny Raven; three brothers: Charles Mathis, Edward Lee McGrady, and Morell Mathis, Jr.; and grandparents: Samuel and Lorena McGrady.

Mrs. Ozie was a graduate of historic A.S. Staley High School, Americus, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Old Shady Grove Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she was a faithful servant of the Lord, sharing love and kindness to all those in need. She worked in Sumter Regional Hospital's X-ray Department in Americus, Georgia for 43 years. She retired on June 30, 1994.
