The Graveside Service for Ms. Angel Green of Americus, Georgia will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.

Angel Green, known affectionately as “Mookie” or “Mookdawg”, entered this world on September 9, 1959. Born to the late Mattie Lee Mathis of Winter Haven, Florida, she was reared, nurtured, and guided by her mother the late Eva Mae Fredrick.

Angel lived most of her life in Utica, New York and Americus, Georgia. She was educated in the public school system of Utica, New York. She lived a life of laughter and high spirit. She devoted her life to her children, family and friends. Her personality, wittiness, smile and kindness will truly be missed.

Angel departed this life on January 26, 2025, peacefully in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, and her nieces. She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her son, Jermail Hammett (Smith); her daughter, Shanquesa Davis; close sisters: Eva McFarley and Rose Robinson; her sisters: Mary Hubbard and Regina Turrentine; her brother, Robert Mathis Jr and close brother,  Reverend Howard A. Mathis; close nieces: Minnie Davis, Danisha Mitchell, Tiana Smith, Brenda Rodriguez, and Samoya Davis; close nephews: Roger Lee Jackson III, Timothy Lajuan Jackson, Marcus Mitchell, Triston Davis, Kendrick Davis, and Robert Lawrence; grandchildren: Quavian Hammett, Jayden Hammett, Ja’torrian Sims, and Ahmir Hammett; great-grand daughter, Rumani Hammett; a host of other nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss her dearly. Those who had the privilege of knowing Angel “Mookie” Green will forever cherish her memories and celebrate her life.

Mr. Willie B. Neal

The Funeral Service for Mr. Willie (Bruh) Neal of Montezuma, Georgia will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Little Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Byromville, Georgia with Reverend Alfred Wynn officiating.

Mr. Willie B. Neal was born December 5, 1937 in Montezuma, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. Ramsey Neal Jr. and the late Mrs. Lillie Pearl Oliver Neal.

He attended the Macon County Public School System during his early years and completed his education in the New York Public School System. After completing high school, Mr. Neal joined the United States Air Force. He later became the business owner of Southside Auto Sales. Later, he returned home and was a self-employed mechanic. His love for people and cars provided the perfect opportunity for him to meet and enjoy many people over the years.

Mr. Neal was a devoted member of Magnolia Baptist Church, and in later years he faithfully attended Zion Hill Baptist Church.

He departed this life on January 24, 2025, at his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Neal West, his brother, Clovis V. Neal, and his son, Alvin “Curtis” Law.

Mr. Neal leaves to cherish his memory: a son, Willie Bernard Reese of Montezuma, Georgia; two daughters: Angela M. Crittendon and Judy Smith (Jeff) both of Oglethorpe, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Tara N. Miller of Jonesboro, Georgia, Latasha Terry (Torrence) of Ellenwood, Georgia, Shanda Pettway (Printis) of Fayettville, Georgia, Karla M. Crumpton (Bobby) of Bonaire, Georgia; Jameco (Curtey) Law (Crystal) of Atlanta, Georgia, Kortnee Smith of Ellenwood, Georgia, and Darius Smith (Tionna) of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty  great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one nephew, Clovis Neal of Odessa, Florida; one niece, Holly N. Moreau of Miramar, Florida; one sister-in-law, Martha G.  Neal of Tampa, Florida; a host of special cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Linda Jean "BeBe" Thomas

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Linda Jean Lewis Thomas of Smithville, Georgia will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Green Grove Baptist Church in Smithville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Linda Jean Lewis Thomas, affectionally known as “Bebe”, was born in Lee County, Georgia, on January 4, 1953, to the parentage of the late Lutherine Ware Lewis and the late Robert Lee Lewis, Sr.

Bebe was educated in the Lee County Public School system in Leesburg, Georgia. At an early age, she accepted Christ in her life and joined the Green Grove Baptist Church, where she served on the culinary ministry and assisted with vacation bible school until the Lord called her home on Friday morning, January 17, 2025, at the Trauma & Critical Care Tower in Albany, Georgia with her husband at her side.

She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Charlie C. Thomas, whom she called “Hun” for 55 years. To this union two sons were born. Their youngest son, Cletus Thomas, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Ada Lewis, Joyce Daniels and Jeanette Goodin; her brothers: Willie Edward Nash, Jessie Nash, Eugene Nash, and Robert L. Lewis; sisters-in-law: Ada Barner and Gloria Nash; and brother-in-law, Eugene Goodin.

She leaves a legacy of memories to be cherished by her devoted and caring husband, Charlie C. Thomas of Smithville, Georgia; her son, Keith (Renee) Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren: Dante and Darius Thomas both of Tallahassee, Florida, Martice and Mikayla Thomas both of Americus, Georgia, and Jalen Thomas of Leesburg, Georgia; four great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Ja’ Cavion, Kori, and Demi Thomas, all of Americus, Georgia; her sister, Gladys (Jessie) Timmons of Leslie, Georgia; her brother, Randolph Lewis of Smithville, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Gussie Mae Bess, Carrie Mae Thomas, Annie (George) Peeples, Doris (William) Angry, and Patricia Thomas all of Smithville, Georgia, and Dorothy Nash of Leslie, Georgia; brothers-in-law: Wardell (Diana) Thomas of Preston, Georgia, William (Mary) Thomas III  of Leslie, Georgia, and Leon (Phyllis) Thomas of Petersburg, Virginia; one aunt of Smithville, Georgia; two aunts and two uncles of Dunkirk, New York; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, caring friends and the Green Grove Church Family, also survive.

Ms. Linda Jackson

The Funeral Service for Ms. Linda Jackson will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Whole Truth International Ministries with Rev. George F. Monts, Jr. officiating.

Ms. Linda Jackson was born in Sumter County, Georgia on July 8,1958, to the late Deacon Alma Jackson and Mrs. Mary L. Jackson. Linda received her education in the public school system of Sumter County, Georgia and was a member of the Americus High School class of 1977. Linda was a member of Whole Truth International Ministries Inc. under the leadership of Pastor George F. Monts, Jr.

Linda was employed at Davidson Rubber Company for several years, Hardee's Restaurant, Medical Transit, and Chevron. She was a big fan of the Atlanta Falcons and WWE Wrestling. She loved cooking and was known by friends as “ACTION JACKSON” and “FOXX”.

On January 4, 2025, Linda transitioned from earth to heaven. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted mother, Ms. Mary L. Jackson; two sons: Menguel Jackson (Kim Jones) and Tarvoris Jackson of Americus Georgia; one grandchild, Quatesha Jackson: one great-grandchild, Nyri Hunkins; seven siblings: Helen Jackson, Kathy Jackson, Curtis Jackson (Carla), Monica Hicks, Susie Jackson Ingram, Xavier Jackson (Chaka), and Deacon Kevin Jackson (Trynesa); aunts: Mrs. Ida Monts, Mrs. Sarah Monts, Mrs. Edna Jones, Ms. Ernestine Jackson, and Ms. Elizabeth Jackson; uncles: Elder Ed Ross, William Monts, and Chester Jackson of Canton, Ohio; several devoted nieces and nephews: La'Quesha Jackson, Tierra Sims, ShanBricia Jackson, Deundra Harvey, Curtecia Jacskson, Racaya Jackson, Trinity Jackson, Kierra Jackson, Jasmine Jackson, Tavithia Jackson, Sonica Jackson, Crystal Cooper, Ebony Cooper, Cannon Jackson, Antavius Sims, and Daimian Jackson; a host of other devoted cousins, family, and friends to include Debra Green, Alma Walton, Cortenna Majors, Janet Morgan, and Tonia Pace.
