The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Louella G. Mann of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Grove Baptist Church, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery.

Sister Louella Grant Mann was born November 23, 1939, to Gladys Thomas Grant and Claude Grant, Sr. She was the granddaughter of the late Louella Ballard and the late P. Ballard. Sister Mann, a woman of exceptional vision and dedication, was labeled a “hard worker” from her childhood on to her adult years. As a hard-working child, “Sis”, as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, was taught to farm and labor by her parents to help take care of her siblings. That love and care for her siblings and family never fizzled. Sis was employed at Southern Frozen Foods of Montezuma, Georgia as a dedicated grader for thirty-five years. During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, completing puzzle books, and watching her favorite soaps.

At an early age, Sis accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and joined the Zion Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Nelson. In better health, Sis Mann was devoted to her church and church family.

Later in life, Sis’ heart was captured by the love of her life, J.C. Mann, and on February 7, 1960, they were beautifully united. To this union Mr. and Mrs. Mann were blessed to rear nine wonderful children. She was preceded in death by four of her children: Brenda, Debra, James Donnell, and Shuwand. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Larry Grant.

This Earthly Walk came to a close for Sis on September 7, 2024, at Four Angels of Byromville in Byromville, Georgia as she left her earthly home and moved to her heavenly mansion.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Left to celebrate the joy of her precious memories are her three loving and devoted children: Sandra Mann of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Eric Mann, and Felix Mann (Senay) of Montezuma, Georgia; a loving stepson, Antonio Barron of Antonio, Texas; a caring goddaughter, Remedios Cochran of Warner Robins, Georgia; a devoted daughter-in-law, Irene Mann of Oglethorpe, Georgia; devoted grandchildren: DeJuan Mann (Laketa) of Byron, Georgia, Tywann Mann of Montezuma, Georgia, Carl Akine, Larry Fobbs, Jr. and Gabrietta Fobbs all of Warner Robins, Georgia, ShuErica Mann of Valdosta, Georgia, James Mann, Jr. and Jontasha Kaigler (Bryant) of Montezuma, Georgia, Almon Joseph, Jr. (Shambria) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Takeria Hudson of Macon, Georgia and Mariah Mann of Montezuma, Georgia; seventeen devoted great-grandchildren; her siblings: Willie “Sonny” Grant of Vienna, Georgia, Betty Carr of Irvington, New Jersey, and Betty Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Edna Hill of Newark, New Jersey, Mae Bertha Jones of West Palm Beach, Florida, Kathryn Mann and Betty Mann of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Eirvin Mann and Viola Mann of West Palm Beach, Florida; a close friend, Ernestine Moore of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
